Dominic Jarrett's hand hovered in the air for a second. Looking at the girl's timid appearance, his mind gradually cleared.
He withdrew his hand, resting it at his side, loosely clenching it into a fist.
He said coldly, "Be careful."
However, thinking of that familiar body scent just now.
His Adam's apple couldn't help but bob.
He looked at her, his gaze deep.
"I heard from Assistant Marsh that you have something to see me about? What is it?"
Clara murmured a 'hmm', nervously looking up at him with watery eyes, saying, "I do have something..."
Before she could finish her sentence.
The man faintly interrupted, "Let's go to the office to talk."
Clara paused...
The man had already turned to leave.
Clara froze for a few seconds, forced to follow.
The man walked very fast, and she had to jog to keep up.
In the lobby.
The man's figure was tall and broad, the woman soft and petite. Walking one after the other, they formed a highly eye-catching scene.
It drew frequent glances from people in the lobby.
"I've been working here for so long, and it's the first time I've seen Mr. Jarrett bring a woman to his office..."
"Exactly. Oh my god, so Mr. Jarrett likes this kind of woman..."
"Not necessarily likes. I know a manager at the Somerset headquarters who told me Mr. Jarrett has someone he likes. He and that girl were together since high school, very deeply in love. But, that girl seemed to have passed away a few years ago..."
"Ah?"
"..."
...
The CEO's office.
Dominic pushed the door open and stepped inside. The bright light shone on his tall figure, highlighting his exceptional nobility.
Clara followed behind, feeling somewhat constrained. Thinking about what she had to tell him in a bit made her even more nervous...
"Sit," the deep male voice sounded.
Clara's heart skipped a beat.
She looked up.
She saw the man standing tall by the tea bar, looking at her calmly, asking, "Tea, or coffee?"
Clara pursed her lips.
Dominic stared at her pink face, waiting a few seconds before turning to sit back in his boss's chair behind the desk.
He loosened his tie and looked up to ask her.
"What brings you to see me?"
While speaking, his fingertips unknowingly rubbed repeatedly over a small patch of skin on his finger.
Mentioning the main business.
Clara snapped back to reality, but she was still somewhat nervous.
"It's about my assistant accidentally sending the wrong proposal this morning..."
"She is usually very diligent with her work and definitely didn't do it on purpose. I've already reprimanded her. Now, I've come specially to apologize to you."
As she spoke, facing the man's dark and heavy gaze, her heartbeat uncontrollably quickened.
She was worried.
Clara couldn't help but clench her fingers.
Dominic noticed it, and his action of rubbing his fingertips paused.
Realizing what he was doing, he frowned again.
He released his hand.
His eyes were unfathomable...
