Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 91

Clara pressed her lips together, at a loss for words for a moment.

If it were before, she would have been thrilled to receive such an expensive gift from him, treating it like a treasure.

But now...

There was no time to think.

The next moment.

Two knocks sounded on the office door.

Seraphina Shaw's voice slowly drifted in.

"Manager Vance, it's almost time for our business meeting. How much longer are you going to dawdle? If this delays our partnership, can you take responsibility?"

Clara frowned. It wasn't hard to catch the passive-aggressive tone.

But time was indeed tight.

Without sparing another glance at the gifts, she put her phone away, hurriedly packed the documents into her bag, and walked out.

On her way, she couldn't resist looking back several times at the boxes of exquisite collectibles on her desk.

Yet, when she pushed the door open and saw the necklace resting around Seraphina's neck, she froze.

It was as if she had been paralyzed, her eyes locked dead onto that pink diamond necklace...

Noticing her stare, Seraphina looked down at the necklace on her chest and cast Clara a disdainful look.

"Julian won this for me at the auction. It's the only one of its kind in the entire Capital City! Gorgeous, isn't it?"

Julian bought it for her.

Then what was the identical pink diamond necklace he had left on her desk?

Clara frowned. A sudden realization struck her, draining all the color from her face.

She rushed back into her office like a madwoman, took the necklace out of the box, and examined it closely. Only then did she notice flaws in the piece, and the craftsmanship was subpar...

It was clearly a fake!

Clara's hands trembled, her heart instantly sinking to the very bottom.

She bit her bloodless lips and picked up the other collectibles to inspect them.

Clara could hold it in no longer. Looking up at the ceiling, she let out a broken, agonizing sob, tears streaming from the corners of her eyes like broken strings of pearls...

Hearing the noise, Seraphina walked in. She glanced around, saw the items on the desk, and took in Clara's pathetic state. Realizing what had happened, she burst into laughter.

"Clara, what did I tell you? I told you to leave back then, but you wouldn't. Now look at you, you brought this entirely upon yourself!"

Saying this, she magnanimously reached up, unclasped the pink diamond necklace from her neck, and tossed it onto Clara.

"Seeing how pitiful you are... three years, and you couldn't even earn an ounce of Julian's pity. You've been played like a fiddle. I'll just give you this necklace! You're welcome!"

Every single word was sharper than the cruelest knife in the world, drawing blood with each cut.

Humiliated and furious, Clara felt her heart being sliced into a bloody pulp!

Forcing herself to stand straight, she grabbed the necklace and hurled it right at Seraphina's head!

"Fuck off!"

"I don't give a damn about these dirty things! And what does Julian's so-called love even amount to anyway?!"

"So what if it's been three years?! So what?! I'll just treat it as if I loved an ungrateful stray dog!"
