When the medical staff approached to push Nova's wheelchair, Tristan naturally stepped forward and took the handles himself.
Nova glanced at him from the corner of her eye. He acted as if he were doing the most ordinary, mundane task between a husband and wife.
But Nova paid it no mind.
In the elevator, just as she was about to ask about the divorce papers, Tristan's phone lit up.
Unsurprisingly, she saw it was a call from Yvette.
The contact name had changed from 'Yvette' to 'Baby.'
For a moment, a wave of nausea washed over Nova.
She looked away and said nothing.
The elevator reached the correct floor just as he answered the call.
This time, Tristan didn't push Nova out. Instead, he handed the wheelchair over to Justin, instructing him before he left, "Take my wife to my grandmother's room."
Wife?
Nova found the word utterly ironic.
This entire floor of VIP suites had been rented out by the Forrester family just for Belinda.
When Nova looked back, Tristan had already stepped into an empty room to talk to Yvette on the phone.
"Let's go," Nova said quietly.
As soon as they entered the hallway, Yasmin Forrester marched over. She glared at Nova and told Justin, "Grandpa and my mom want to see her first. They want to give her a few instructions so she doesn't say the wrong thing later."
Justin knew exactly what Tristan's orders had meant. He didn't let go of the wheelchair, preparing to put Yasmin in her place.
But Nova spoke up instead. "Take me to them."
She had nothing left to fear now. It was the perfect time to clear up some misunderstandings.
