"There's no time," Samuel decided firmly. "We'll deal with the aftermath later."
He made the call.
Just then, Chloe Zimmerman rushed down the hall, pulling a woman along with her.
Nova recognized her immediately. It was the same OB/GYN from the Forrester Group who had confirmed her pregnancy—Dr. Zimmerman.
"Nova, this is my mom. I've already explained everything. Don't worry, she won't breathe a word to anyone."
Dr. Zimmerman gently touched Nova's face before clasping her hands, pouring confidence into her. "There are many babies born at six months who make it. With the right financial resources, survival is absolutely possible. Nova, as long as you don't give up, I promise you I will keep your baby alive!"
She was a professional. Nova trusted her implicitly!
"Okay!"
Dr. Zimmerman immediately began prepping.
As they were about to wheel Nova into the delivery room, Dr. Zimmerman fastened a hospital bracelet around her wrist. "Let's take a quick photo for the memories, Nova. Once you make it past this hurdle, you'll look back and realize there isn't a single obstacle in life you can't overcome!"
Her contractions were growing violent. The last check showed she was already six centimeters dilated.
Samuel had meticulously planned everything—the best doctors abroad, the highest-tier maternity care, even a professional photographer to document this milestone.
But none of that mattered now.
Chloe pulled out a camera, tears streaming down her face as she powered it on. "Nova, I'll go in with you. I'll record it for you."
Agonized, Nova nodded heavily.
Watching her disappear behind the double doors, Samuel finally remembered to return Mathew Sherwin's missed call.
But the moment he took out his phone, he saw the professor already rushing down the corridor.
With teary eyes, Mathew asked, "Where's Nova? Has she delivered? Is she in a lot of pain? Her mother passed away so young, her dad is hospitalized, and Ian can't be here..."
They were the only family she had left...
Inside, Dr. Zimmerman gripped Nova's hand. "You're at eight centimeters, but the baby is breech. One of her hands is coming out first..."
