She could clearly see that Yvette thought she was just being difficult. There was no point in teaching her a lesson, as it would only cause Yvette to over-analyze and twist her intentions even further.
She would strictly do her own job and handle her own responsibilities. Anything beyond that was none of her business.
"If your side fails to produce results within three days, Ms. Sellers, my team will issue a breach of contract notice. You'll just need to pay the penalty." Nova stood up.
Yvette choked back her frustration, glaring at Nova's retreating back with an incredulous, angry laugh.
Fortunately, her recorder was still running, capturing this exact exchange.
Just then, her phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, Yvette didn't bother hiding it from Nova. She answered immediately, "Tristan... Yeah, I'm at CN Dynamics right now... You're coming to pick me up? Okay."
After hanging up, Yvette glanced over to see Nova's reaction.
To her surprise, there was nothing to see.
Because the moment she had answered the phone, Nova had already turned the corner and walked away.
So, she didn't even know Tristan Forrester was coming to pick her up.
Fuming from the day's events, Yvette remained entirely silent after getting into Tristan's car.
Noticing her mood, Tristan asked, "Work trouble?"
Yvette's initial instinct was to complain about how Nova had bullied her, knowing Tristan would definitely stand up for her.
But after a second thought, she realized there was no need.
She just had to send the recording to Mr. Zimmerman.
"Yeah, just minor issues. I can handle it." Yvette forced a smile.
Tristan nodded. "Alright. If you need help, just ask."
Yvette smiled sweetly. "I know!"
