Nova’s naturally porcelain skin instantly flushed. As she reached out to pull up her robe, a hand beat her to it, drawing the fabric securely around her.

Nova looked up. Tristan’s eyes were dark, unreadable.

But the moment she looked at him, the second their eyes met, he glanced away. He only let go of her when she had steadied herself.

He even handed her phone back, not bothering to ask who had called.

He didn't say a word.

Nova’s hands trembled slightly. She instinctively explained, "I wasn't trying to seduce you."

Tristan paused just as he was about to leave. He cast a sidelong glance at her, looking as though he wanted to say something, but ultimately just gave a faint, "Mhm."

Nova looked away, her peripheral vision catching a document resting on the bed.

She walked over and picked it up, realizing it was a new Divorce Agreement.

Opening it, she saw he had made changes. One clause contained the four demands he’d mentioned when he walked in: "First, be available on call. Second, don't hide from me. Third, cooperate with me. Fourth, install a GPS tracker on your phone and sync it with mine so I can know your location and contact you at any time."

Nova belatedly realized he had only come over to give her the Divorce Agreement. She hadn't actually needed to explain herself.

Whether he believed her or not didn't matter; they were getting divorced soon anyway.

But Nova could not agree to that last condition.

"Where I go is my own business. I don't want to be overly micromanaged."
