Chuck Clayton stared at the text message in silence for a moment, suddenly feeling a pang of pity for Nova's unrequited devotion.
Nova herself, however, was completely oblivious to it.
After saying a quick goodbye to Belinda, she left Serenity Springs Resort. She didn't see Tristan Forrester around, nor did she care.
That evening, Julian Stratford went over the final details of the Divorce Agreement with her one last time.
Truth be told, Nova wasn't worried about Tristan pulling any dirty tricks.
He was ruthless and unforgiving in the business world, but when it came to legal contracts, everything was laid out in black and white. It was strictly business, and he wasn't the type to stoop to petty schemes.
After a brief silence, Nova finalized the timeline with Julian. "Let's push the divorce forward tomorrow, Monday. I'll give you his private lawyer's number."
"Understood," Julian replied. "I'll schedule a time for us to negotiate the next steps."
After hanging up, Julian immediately contacted Tristan's lawyer, Justin Lockwood.
Justin wasn't surprised by the call—after all, he had drafted the Divorce Agreement in the first place.
But any modifications or a resigning of the documents required Tristan's direct approval...
"Mrs. Forrester has retained counsel to finalize the agreement, and she's already signed on her end. Mr. Stratford asked if you had time to meet and go over the remaining details. Should I step in on your behalf, or...?" Justin asked.
Tristan seemed to let out a faint scoff at the news. "Have her lawyer meet me," he said coolly. "Tomorrow during my lunch break."
Justin nodded. "I'll inform Mr. Stratford right away."
Tristan didn't say another word. His gaze briefly flicked to the thermos sitting on his desk—the one Nova had left behind the last time she brought him food—before he went back to his work.
Tristan didn't return to Clearwater Manor that night.
Nova didn't bother asking about his whereabouts. Honestly, it was better this way. It meant she could relax and call her daughter, checking in on little Latonia through the nanny cam.
But the moment the video feed loaded, Nova's blood ran cold. Latonia was screaming in the nanny's arms.
Her face tightened in panic. She immediately jumped up, ready to call the nanny and demand to know what was going on.
But right before her eyes, the nanny violently shoved the crying baby!
