Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 282

From the car, Nova frantically texted Samuel Wyndham, begging him to get there as fast as he could.

But Samuel was at a business dinner, much too far away to make it in time.

Desperate, Nova threw caution to the wind and called the police, urging them to get there immediately.

After making the calls, she stared helplessly at the live feed. The nanny was still verbally abusing Latonia, and the baby's shrieks were so agonizing that even the driver looked back in sympathy and slammed his foot on the gas.

Nova called the nanny's phone back-to-back, but she never answered.

The drive from Clearwater Manor to Latonia's apartment usually took twenty minutes.

By the end of the feed, the nanny, exhausted from her own ranting, simply tossed the baby onto the couch, put on noise-canceling headphones, and went into the bedroom to sleep.

She left Latonia—a helpless, terrified infant—screaming alone in the dark on the sofa.

Listening to those guttural, throat-tearing cries, Nova felt her soul being ripped apart.

Her tears fell endlessly, soaking her clothes.

"Hold on, baby, Mommy's coming. Mommy's right there!"

Just as they were passing the amusement park, the car suddenly sputtered and broke down. Nova threw the door open, sprinting into the street to flag down a taxi.

When she turned her head, she spotted a familiar car parked by the curb.

It was Tristan's.

Pushing aside any fear that Latonia's existence might be exposed, she sprinted toward him, desperate to beg for a ride.

Dodging through moving traffic, Nova risked her life to cross the street.

Just as she reached the other side, she saw Tristan rushing out of the park, holding a child in his arms, hurrying toward his car.

Yvette Sellers was jogging close behind him.

"Tristan! Wait!" Nova threw herself at him, grabbing his wrist in sheer desperation.
