Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 301

"Tristan probably didn't expect tech to be my strong suit. His little scheme completely backfired," Nova Clarke said with a self-deprecating laugh.

Samuel Wyndham agreed it was a silver lining. "As long as you nail this project, you'll be untouchable in this industry. Whether behind the scenes or in the spotlight, you'll be the top player."

Before hanging up, Nova added, "I don't want to work with the Pearce family anymore. Samuel, could you pass that message along for me?"

Samuel readily agreed.

Nova had already started outlining her new paper, using the core materials Tristan Forrester had shown her as the foundation.

Upon returning to her office, she deliberately glanced toward Tristan's side of the floor.

By now, he should have already signed the Divorce Agreement, right?

She desperately wanted to ask him when he would have time to finalize it. Because of the state's mandatory thirty-day waiting period, they would still have to wait a month before receiving the official decree.

But it was working hours, making it entirely inappropriate to bring up personal matters.

Gathering her thoughts, Nova had just sat down when she saw Julian Stratford walk out of the executive suite.

She wasn't sure if she was imagining things, but the lawyer looked visibly upset. He didn't even glance her way before turning on his heel and marching toward the elevators.

And was that... ink stained across his palm?

Nova stood up, planning to find an excuse to head downstairs and ask Mr. Stratford what had happened.

But before she could reach the elevators, Sean intercepted her. "Mr. Forrester wants to see you."

Nova had a bad feeling about this.

When she stepped into his office, Yvette Sellers and the others were nowhere to be seen. Tristan simply handed her a thick file. "Stay late tonight. We're working overtime."

Nova took the file but didn't move.

Tristan looked up at her. "What's wrong?"

"Is it really just overtime?" she asked, her lips pressed into a tight line as she studied him.
