The sheer absurdity of it made Nova laugh.

Just to help Yvette bully her, Chuck and Kieran had actually gotten a manager to invent a ridiculous lie to force her back inside.

Nova was just about to pull out her phone and call the police when the car door swung open.

Her face dark with fury, Belinda stepped out of the vehicle. "I'll go inside with you to see exactly what Nova supposedly stole from your restaurant! If I find out this is a baseless accusation, you can kiss this establishment goodbye!"

The manager's face drained of color. He had no idea the Forrester matriarch was here!

Panicking, he scrambled back inside.

Now, even if Nova wanted to leave, Belinda wasn't going to let it slide.

The three of them were still waiting in the lobby when Nova walked in, supporting Belinda by the arm.

"Tristan is out finalizing another deal, so he left this project to me. Nova was supposed to handle the negotiations, but she let her personal jealousy of Ms. Sellers infect her work. She purposely showed up late and without the necessary documents, trying to sabotage Ms. Sellers' government contract."

He was stating "facts," confident that Belinda would quickly realize what a piece of work Nova really was.

Nova didn't say a word.

Belinda, however, raised an eyebrow and looked over at Yvette.

Negotiations?

Nova hadn't planned on going, but Belinda had insisted.
