Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 73

Nova barely glanced at the message before immediately turning to Samuel. "I need to get back as soon as possible. Belinda called me a dozen times while I was in there, and because I didn't answer, she panicked thinking something happened to me. She's been taken to the hospital."

Samuel fell silent for a fraction of a second before nodding. "I'll have a car take you."

She didn't decline the offer.

Watching her hurried figure disappear, Samuel recounted the situation to his mentor.

"I looked into her brother's case. Tristan is actually handling it quite seriously. It's moving through the system at lightning speed right now. If there are no hiccups, the process should be completed within six months, and he'll be released."

Mathew didn't say a word. He simply stayed quiet for a moment and gave a slow nod.

Even for a minor case, taking it to trial usually meant measuring the timeline in years.

There wasn't a second person on earth—domestically or abroad—who could push a case through the legal system this rapidly.

But given Nova's current state...

Samuel followed his mentor's gaze toward the corner where she had vanished.

"She's still..." Mathew let out a heavy sigh.

Samuel understood exactly what the old man was getting at. "I'll expedite all her research projects. We need to get her sent abroad as soon as possible."

...

Meanwhile, at the Forrester Estate.

Belinda had just regained consciousness when she heard Yasmin's voice drifting in from the hallway. "Her family is bankrupt! Where would she even get the money? She must have taken your money to go show off at the auction! On top of that, whatever Yvette wanted, she bid on. She specifically went there to target her and disgust all of us!"

"I heard she even fought Yvette for some research data. She can't even understand that kind of material! And she had the nerve to claim she was bidding on behalf of Professor Mathew! She was clearly just using his name to cause a scene!" Felipa's face was dark. She had never liked Nova to begin with.

She turned her gaze to her father-in-law. "Dad, what do you think?"

Abdul Forrester's expression was grim. He glanced out at Tristan, who was on a business call in the courtyard, before speaking.

"Fundamentally, she's jealous of Yvette's capabilities. But since she doesn't have the brains to compete with her or catch up to her, she resorts to underhanded tactics to drag her down. Trash will always be trash!"

Yasmin gritted her teeth and spat, "She's an absolute leech! Our family is so unlucky to be stuck with a woman like that. She—"

—"Are you all going to curse me out next?!"

The moment the words left his lips, Nova was ushered through the doorway.

She had rushed over in a panic. Ignoring everyone else in the room, she hurried straight to the bedside. "Are you alright?"

The older woman looked at her, affectionately stroking her cheek. "Oh, my sweet girl, I'm fine. I was just so worried about you and the baby!"

She turned and glared at her grandson. "Well? Help your wife up! She's pregnant!"

Nova was just about to stand on her own when a scorching grip clamped down on her wrist.

She turned to look. Tristan had his hand wrapped firmly around her arm. Instantly, her mind flashed back to the auction earlier that day—how he had held Yvette's wrist in the exact same way, raising the paddle to buy her mother's legacy, the imperial green signet ring.

Once she was on her feet, she subtly twisted out of his grasp, stepping closer to Belinda to put distance between herself and Tristan.

Oblivious to the tension, Belinda smiled and offered a few more words of advice before saying, "It's so late already. Don't go back tonight. Stay here at the estate and rest. Tomorrow, you can sit out in the sun with me."

Nova genuinely wanted to say yes. But she was scheduled to formally join CN Dynamics in the morning.

"I'll come keep you company this weekend."
