It made perfect sense why so many men in their circles adored Yvette Sellers, and why so many prominent figures treated her with such high regard.
By the time she returned to her seat, Nova was nowhere to be seen, and the auction had concluded.
"The research data will be jointly owned by CN Dynamics and the Forrester Group," Tristan announced.
Both sides had refused to yield. Samuel Wyndham came from a highly influential, wealthy family, and on top of that, he had government backing.
Tristan decided to offer him this concession as a gesture of professional courtesy.
The single condition was that Yvette must join CN Dynamics.
Hearing this, Yvette was flooded with overwhelming joy.
She had wanted that data specifically to use as a stepping stone into CN Dynamics.
"But going in like this... who knows if they'll let you handle any of the core projects," Kieran pointed out.
"My track record speaks for itself," she replied smoothly. "Once I deliver results, they won't be able to ignore me. It doesn't matter how exclusionary Aro is. I'll use my skills to pry open the doors to the Apocalypse Project and make them all beg me to join. I'll make Aro personally ask me to be part of the team."
She radiated absolute confidence.
Tristan offered a faint smile, his eyes filled with genuine admiration.
None of them brought up Nova again; doing so would only ruin the mood.
However, Belinda eventually caught wind of Nova's appearance at the auction.
Currently, Nova was on her way to see her mentor. Professor Mathew was taking her to meet Professor Hickey, who had just returned from Meridia.
She had used the replacement SIM card Samuel had just gotten for her to send a quick text to Belinda, but her phone was immediately confiscated by the staff. A signal jammer was flipped on, blocking all devices in the room.
Professor Hickey was of Chinese descent, bearing the surname Caldwell.
Abroad, his reputation rivaled Mathew's, and he currently served as the president of the Global Science & Research Council.
After Nova had faded from the industry, he had learned about Yvette through his son and had actually considered taking her on as a mentee.
But verifying and advancing this kind of research was easier said than done, let alone producing tangible results.
It wasn't something that could be achieved overnight.
Still, trying was better than doing nothing at all.
She nodded in agreement. "Alright. We can finalize the contract right now."
Professor Hickey produced the contract from the Meridia government research institute. Before handing it over, he laid down one condition: "I am placing my total trust in you for this project. No one else is permitted to interfere. You will call the shots on every single detail, big or small!"
"Agreed!" Nova said firmly.
She signed the contract, and her updated credentials were simultaneously registered with the Global Science & Research Council.
Once everything was wrapped up, she walked out and got her phone back. The screen was lit up with dozens of missed calls from Belinda.
There was also a single text message from Tristan.
