Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 75

The next morning, Nova grabbed her things to leave.

Wendy, the nanny, blocked her path. "Mr. Forrester gave strict orders. You are not permitted to leave until you've written 'Know your place' thirty thousand times. If you have an issue with it, take it up with him. My hands are tied!"

Nova knew she was just doing this to be difficult.

Glancing at the clock, she realized she was already running late. She didn't have the energy to argue with the woman.

Just as she was about to shove past her, a cold voice rang out from behind.

"Let her go. Starting today, ignore her completely."

Nova didn't look back.

She knew he looked down on her, convinced she had no concept of her own limits.

But that was his problem. All she cared about was paying off her debts and severing every tie before the divorce!

Watching her walk away without a second glance, the displeasure in his eyes darkened.

Wendy stepped closer. "Sir, shouldn't we look into what kind of work she's supposedly doing and where? We wouldn't want her getting involved in anything shady, leaving you to clean up her mess later!"

His voice dropped to freezing temperatures. "Did you not hear what I just said?"

He had explicitly stated that, as of today, he was washing his hands of her.

Wendy immediately ducked her head, too terrified to speak.

It was rare to see him genuinely angry.

In her head, she cursed Nova a thousand times over.

...

She was late.

She had texted Samuel from the car, and he replied telling her to take her time and not to stress—he'd smooth things over with HR.

But she refused to use any special privileges over a minor delay.

When she arrived at the building, she noticed an incredibly rare luxury car parked out front.

It looked identical to one sitting in the garage back at Clearwater Manor.

People were stopping to stare, including several of her new colleagues from CN Dynamics. But she didn't have time to dwell on it; she was late and needed to get upstairs immediately.

Seconds after she hurried inside, the passengers of the luxury car stepped out.

It was none other than Yvette.

And the man personally escorting her was Tristan.

Neither had Yvette.

She glanced at Tristan, whose face was completely impassive, acting as if Nova didn't even exist.

Chuck eyed Nova with obvious disdain. "Should we wait for the other elevator? It'll be down in a second."

Tristan didn't say a word and simply stepped inside.

Yvette followed right behind him.

Chuck kept his mouth shut and joined them.

Throughout the entire ride, Nova remained silent. A sudden, bizarre wave of being treated like an infestation washed over her.

She had been here first!

"Excuse me, move," she demanded, her face turning cold.

She refused to share an elevator with them.

Her voice wasn't loud, but it was clear enough for everyone to hear.

When no one so much as flinched, she found herself boxed into the back corner as they completely ignored her.

Seeing the doors about to close and realizing they were treating her like thin air, her temper flared. She shoved past Tristan and Chuck, blocking the sensor to step out of the elevator.
