Tristan didn't respond.
Felipa pressed on, "I heard she followed Yvette to CN Dynamics to work as an assistant?"
"She doesn't know the first thing about the tech industry. Using Professor Mathew's favor to get into CN Dynamics is just a pathetic attempt to get close to the Wyndham family and make you jealous. On top of that, she's furious that we praise Yvette, so she wants to compete with her. She's completely incompetent. Make her quit before she embarrasses herself. She needs to sit quietly, have this baby, and then sign the divorce papers. After that, she can go wherever she wants. This family won't waste another breath on her."
Tristan remained silent.
Even Felipa couldn't read her own son. He had always been distant from them, a man of dangerously few words.
Knowing how much he cared for Yvette, she decided to cater to his interests and ask about her well-being.
That finally got him to speak.
"She's doing perfectly fine. She adapts very quickly."
The implication was clear: Yvette was exceptional on her own, and no one needed to worry about her.
Whenever it came to Yvette, he was always willing to elaborate.
Feeling she had found an in, Felipa mentally noted to treat Yvette exceptionally well from now on, hoping it would bring her closer to her son.
Love truly could make a powerful man lower his head, and a silent man willingly speak.
Standing outside the door, Nova felt nothing but apathy. She turned away and went to find Belinda instead.
Belinda wasn't foolish; she knew Nova was just trying to smooth things over, but she played along to protect the girl's dignity.
She gently cupped Nova's cheek, pulling her into a warm embrace. "Why don't you sleep in my room tonight?"
A wave of warmth washed over her. She nodded, her eyes suddenly stinging with unshed tears.
Later that night, as Belinda held her in bed, the older woman whispered, "Nova, I've lived a long life, and I've learned to let a lot of things go. Love really isn't all it's cracked up to be. The most important thing is financial security. The worst mistake a woman can make is prioritizing romance. Money is the only thing that won't betray you."
Nova felt like a little girl again as Belinda gently patted her back.
