Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 85

Nova assumed Tristan was just putting on a show, but that very evening, he personally took her to a high-end department store to buy clothes.

At the same time, he arranged for professional maternity specialists to come directly to the estate.

When they returned from shopping, she found a row of uniformed specialists waiting in the living room for Belinda to interview.

Tristan played the role of the doting, expectant father perfectly. As the specialists introduced themselves, he asked incredibly specific, demanding questions about prenatal care.

The specialists answered eagerly, smiling at her. "You are so incredibly lucky, Mrs. Forrester. Your husband is so attentive."

Nova just forced a polite smile.

She wasn't delusional enough to think he actually cared about her.

He was just putting on a meticulous performance for Belinda's sake.

More than that, he was probably treating this as a practice run for when he and Yvette eventually had children.

After watching the charade for a few minutes, she excused herself and went upstairs.

Following a quick shower, she opened her laptop, ready to catch up on work.

The bedroom door opened.

Tristan walked in, followed closely by one of the maternity specialists.

Before she could even ask what was going on, he ordered, "Lie down on the bed."

She hesitated, but after meeting his unyielding gaze, she kept her mouth shut and climbed onto the mattress.

The specialist approached. "Ma'am, you're four months along now. It's wonderful that you aren't experiencing morning sickness. However, some women develop severe swelling later on. We also need to start applying stretch mark oil immediately to prevent scarring."

She handed a premium bottle of oil directly to Tristan.

Realizing what was about to happen, Nova immediately sat up. "That won't be necessary. I'll do it myself."

Besides, there was no baby anymore. What was the point of all this?

The specialist blinked in surprise and looked at Tristan.

And worse, she could never predict what was going on in his head.

Despite her fear, she held her ground. She refused to be his practice dummy for Yvette.

"I want to apply it myself..."

"Suit yourself."

This time, he didn't argue. He shoved the bottle back into the specialist's hands, grabbed a tissue to wipe his fingers, and walked out of the room without looking back.

Watching him leave so cleanly only solidified her theory. He had only been using her for practice.

But since they were at the estate, him storming out like this would definitely raise Belinda's suspicions.

She got up, planning to find Belinda and explain that they were going to start the treatments tomorrow when they returned to Clearwater Manor.

As she stepped into the hallway, she heard Felipa's voice drifting from the study.

"Just let your grandmother have her way for now. But you need to keep Nova in check. Don't let your sudden kindness give her any delusions of grandeur. She might start thinking she actually has a chance to secure her place in this family. Her status as your wife is strictly temporary. She has never truly been Mrs. Forrester."
