Chapter 101
Chapter 101
Brianna’s mood was totally wrecked.
She had thought this place would be her sanctuary.
She never imagined this family could be so world-class at making people sick.
Taking a few deep breaths, Brianna forced herself to calm down.
‘How am I supposed to deal with this mess?’ she wondered.
Her first thought was to install security cameras.
‘Who knows what kind of schemes this family is plotting?’ she thought.
She didn’t waste any time.
She immediately ordered cameras online and scheduled the installation.
The technician would come tomorrow afternoon to set them up.
She sat on the couch, deep in thought.
Their goal was clear: push her into a divorce.
They wanted to make sure Darcy got into the Levy family without any trouble.
Besides the baby Darcy was carrying, what else could they possibly use against her?
Brianna drew a blank.
They’d totally be capable of taking her out if it came to that.
Darcy had already made a move against her.
Out of options, Brianna opened her shopping app again.
She ordered pepper spray, a stun gun, and some other self-defense stuff, just in case.
She was hesitating. ‘Should I just pack up and leave?’ she asked herself.
‘But where could I even go right now?’ she wondered.
The other empty place she had was already given to Clair.
All the rest were rented out.
Go back to her grandma’s house? She really didn’t want to stress her out.

Chapter 101
Just as Brianna was lost in thought, her phone rang. It was Clair.
“Hey, have you left yet?” Clair asked.
“Yeah, what’s up?” Brianna replied.
“I was hoping you could help me review the dinner party proposal,” Clair said.
“Sure, I’m at home. Come over,” Brianna replied.
Since Clair lived nearby, it was easy for him to come over.
Clair hurried over with his stuff, not wasting a moment.
An hour later, Clair rang her doorbell.
As soon as Clair stepped through the door, he blurted out, unable to hold back, “Damn, it smells so good in here!”
“What did you make?” he asked, sniffing the air.
Brianna waved him in.
“Just threw something together last minute. Hope you don’t mind,” she said.
After Clair called, Brianna grabbed whatever ingredients she could find from the fridge.
She quickly threw together a couple of simple dishes.
She’d gotten used to taking care of Brandon and his daughter, especially cooking for them.
Cooking was second nature to her.
Clair waved the bag in front of her, showing off what he’d brought.
“What a coincidence! I grabbed dinner too,” he said.
“Perfect, that’ll add to the spread,” Brianna replied, her eyes crinkling with a smile.
They started laying out the food together.
Brianna pulled out some wine glasses.
She picked out a bottle of white wine from the wine cabinet.
“Want a drink?” she asked.
“Hell yeah!” Clair jumped at the chance.
They sat down at the table, raised their glasses, and the clink of their glasses rang out.

Chapter 101
At that moment, the sound of a camera shutter went off from the cordoned-off area outside.
While eating, the two discussed business.
They talked about the upcoming charity gala.
Clair mentioned that Dexter Gems would be auctioning off several vintage collections.
They’d even managed to secure the award-winning pieces from the last jewelry competition for the auction.
At this, Brianna’s eyes lit up.
Dexter Gems was always her favorite jewelry brand.
And those vintage styles from the 70s and 80s? That was totally her vibe.
Clair continued, “Hey, would you be interested in bidding at the auction?”
Brianna nodded, smiling, “Of course! If my bank account can handle it, count me in.”
Clair chuckled.
“I mean, would Horizon Group’s couture line want to be part of the auction?” he asked.
Brianna raised an eyebrow, looking like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
Sure, it was a charity gala, but really, it was all about the big brands getting their names out there.
For a newbie company like hers to get that kind of exposure? She never thought it was even possible.
It was something she never even dared to imagine.
Clair pulled out the proposal and handed it to Brianna.
“I specifically planned an auction segment for emerging designers. If you’re interested, I’ll try to get the head office on board,” he said.
Brianna put a hand over her heart, her face full of gratitude.
“Clair, I honestly don’t know how to thank you,” she said.
Clair grinned.
“Guess I gotta earn my dinner, huh?” he joked.
Clair cracked a joke, and Brianna laughed, raising her glass. They toasted again, the sound of their glasses ringing out as they grinned at each other.
Meanwhile, at a villa on the east side of the city, Nancy’s parents were there with her, demanding answers from Tristan’s parents.

“Mr. Pratt, I’ve spent half my life working for the Pratt Group. You know me. Normally, we’d never dream of getting involved with your family over some kids’ mistakes. But look at the mess now. Nancy is my only daughter, and Mr. Tristan really went too far this time,” Nancy’s father, Kevin Rich, said, his voice full of frustration.
Kevin was the vice president of the Pratt Group.
He’d been a loyal right-hand man to Jerod for decades, working alongside him through thick and thin. His words sounded humble, but his stance was firm and unwavering.
Jerod’s face darkened as he asked, “What kind of mess has that troublemaker gotten himself into this time?”
“This afternoon, Mr. Tristan came looking for Nancy,” Nancy’s mom, Megan, spoke up, her eyes red and swollen. “He didn’t even bother to ask what was going on. He just slapped her without warning, then said he’d rather stay single forever than ever marry our Nancy.”
By the time Megan finished, her voice was trembling with emotion.
“Mr. Pratt,” Kevin said, “Nancy’s my only child, born when I was already getting on in years. I’ve always treated her like a treasure. Never once raised my hand against her.”
Jerod was so mad that he could punch a wall. He snapped at James, “Where the hell is Tristan? Where did that brat run off to?”
“Geez, look at you, getting all fired up,” Zoe said, trying to calm him down. “Let’s wait for Tristan to come back and hear what he has to say.”
“What’s the point of asking? Since when is hitting someone ever justified? Let alone a girl!” Jerod was absolutely livid.
He hadn’t even confronted Tristan yet about Brandon’s visit to the company this morning, and now the kid
up trouble again in the afternoon. had stirred
Zoe, worried about her son, turned to Nancy.
“Sweetie, can you tell me why Tristan hit you?” she asked.
“Enough!” Jerod exploded again. “He’s a grown man, nearly thirty, and you’re still making excuses for him!”
Zoe went quiet.
Seeing Jerod’s reaction, Kevin felt a bit embarrassed.
“Mr. Pratt, please don’t get so upset. Kids these days, you know how it is. We can’t really control them. We just came over to say, let’s just let it go between the kids, alright?” Kevin said.
rod had once talked about arranging a marriage between the two families.

Chapter 101
Even if Tristan were the king, the Rich family would never let their daughter marry him.
They came today to make their stance clear and stand up for their daughter.
“Mr. Rich, you’ve worked alongside me for decades. I assure you, I’ll give you a proper explanation for this matter,” Jerod said.
“Yeah, bring him back. Let’s hear his side and settle this face-to-face.”
Zoe stepped up again, coming to her son’s defense.
‘If Tristan actually took a liking to their daughter, they should be counting their lucky stars,’ she thought with
a sneer.
‘And now they show up here late at night, demanding answers and still have the nerve to act all superior?’ she fumed.
