Chapter 103
Chapter 103
Brianna and Clair spent the morning checking out a few office spaces together.
In the afternoon, Brianna headed home.
She made an appointment to have a security camera system installed.
She wanted to add even more cameras to cover every corner of the house.
When the installer arrived, Brianna went over her requirements with him.
They made sure the cameras covered every inch of the house, leaving no blind spots.
By the time everything was set up and working, it was already getting close to evening.
Brianna ordered some takeout.
She picked up her sketchbook and started sketching out ideas for her next design.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed.
The security system alerted her that someone was at the front door.
She tapped on the video feed.
An old lady was at the door, peering around furtively as if trying to snoop inside.
When Brianna looked closer, she realized it was Jane.
Brianna pressed the security system’s alarm button on her phone.
An ear-splitting siren blared at the front door.
Jane jumped in fright.
She muttered a curse at the door and stormed off.
Brianna watched, a sly grin tugging at her lips. ‘Good thing I got those cameras installed, she thought.
She got back to sketching, completely focused on her designs.
The phone rang again, pulling Brianna out of her work.
She glanced at the screen, and Brandon’s name flashed across it.
“Hello?” Brianna answered, not bothering to hide her annoyance.
“Are you off work yet?” Brandon asked.

“Yeah, I’m already home,” Brianna replied, her tone still a bit annoyed.
“There’s a banquet tonight. You’re coming with me,” Brandon said.
“I’m already home,” Brianna protested, clearly not thrilled about the idea.
“The CEO from our international partner is here for an inspection. Get yourself ready. I’m coming to pick you up,” Brandon said, leaving no room for argument.
Brianna was speechless, irritation bubbling up inside her.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner? It’s already so late!” she snapped.
“They just got off the plane,” Brandon replied, completely unfazed by her annoyance. “I’m on my way?
Brianna really didn’t want to deal with him right now.
But after thinking it over for a bit, she reluctantly went upstairs to change.
She sat back down at the dining table, still sketching out her designs.
After a while, the doorbell rang.
Brianna got up and opened the door.
Brandon was at her door in a sharp black suit, his deep red tie giving him an extra air of sophistication.
And as luck would have it, Brianna happened to be wearing a deep red dress herself.
Brandon gestured toward the door.
“What’s your grandma doing here?” he asked.
“You saw her?” Brianna gave a cold smile. “They were the ones moving in that day.”
“They moved here?” Brandon asked, still looking puzzled.
mna didn’t respond. Without another word, she went back inside and grabbed her bag.
was about to head out.
andon’s expression turned cold.
He followed her out the door.
But instead of getting in the car, Brandon turned and walked with Brianna toward the Meyers family’s house.
Instead, he led Brianna in the direction of the Meyers family’s place.
Jane was taking a stroll.

When she saw Brandon, she instantly beamed, her face breaking into a wide smile.
But as soon as her eyes landed on Brianna, her smile disappeared, and her expression soured.
“Hi, Grandma. Out for a walk?” Brandon greeted her politely.
“Yes, I am. Where are you two headed?” Jane asked, then shot Brianna a look of clear disapproval.
Jane’s gaze swept over Brianna, her expression souring.

‘Doesn’t even bother to say hi to her grandma. No manners at all,’ Jane thought, her lips pursed in annoyance
“We’re heading out,” Brandon said, keeping his cool. “Small world, huh? Looks like we’re neighbors now. Where’s the rest of the family?”
Jane gave a forced smile. “Yeah, what a coincidence! The others had something to take care of, so they went out.”
Brandon nodded. “Alright, we’ll visit you again some other day. We’re heading out now.”
Jane nodded and gave them a wave.
But as soon as they turned away, her smile vanished, and her face soured.
Brianna kept her mouth shut, refusing to say a word.
‘What is Brandon even trying to do?’ Brianna wondered, totally baffled by his actions.
Once they were in the car, Brandon suddenly said, “I’ve been trying to get in touch with Darcy these past couple of days, but her phone’s been turned off the whole time.”
‘Her phone’s off?’ Brianna wondered.
“So, you can’t find her now?” she snarked.
Brandon just ignored her sarcasm.
“I can’t reach her,” he said.
Brianna snorted softly. “Worried about her now?”
Brandon gave her a sharp, reproachful look.
Then he turned away, his brow furrowed in thought.
Brianna felt a swirl of confusion inside.

Brianna pulled out her phone.
She searched for Darcy’s updates on social media.
The last update was on the day of the press conference.
That was when she announced she was taking a break.
Nothing else since then.
A fresh wave of doubt washed over Brianna.
‘Was this Brandon’s doing?’ she wondered uneasily.
She cast him a brooding look.

“The last night is the farewell banquet,” Brandon said.
“Yeah,” Brianna answered.
Brandon gave her a weird look, noticing how she was acting kind of off and barely responding.
He asked, “Are they bothering you again?”
“Ha,” Brianna scoffed. “When do they ever not mess with me?”
“So…do you want to move somewhere else?” Brandon asked, sounding a bit hesitant.
Truth was, he was really hoping she’d say she wanted to move back in with him.

They both wore polite smiles and carried themselves with impeccable composure.
The delegation from the international partner showed up.
Brandon wrapped his arm around Brianna’s waist, pulling her close.
With a hint of a smile at the corners of his eyes, he introduced her to their partners.
“Meet my wife. She’s a jewelry designer,” Brandon said.
Brianna spoke with them fluently.
