As Vino walked in, Darcy’s swagger disappeared without a trace. She slumped into the chair, refusing to give up, her eyes still fixed on Brandon.
“Brandon, no. They set me up,” Darcy pleaded.
Her face turned ghostly pale, terror filling her eyes. She looked like a broken doll, so vulnerable it stirred pity in anyone who saw her.
Vino was handsome, but years of living a hedonistic lifestyle had left his skin yellowed and his eyes clouded. He looked nothing like a young man anymore.
All he wanted now was to grab his cash and leave. He was just doing what he was told, ready to call Darcy out right then and there.
“Hey, Miss Meyers, don’t make stuff up. You came to me first. It was mutual. Who’s framing you? I didn’t do anything illegal,” Vino said.
Brianna stood up, still pressing her hand to the wound on her forehead. “Are you Darcy’s boyfriend?”
Vino smirked, his grin downright sleazy.
“Not her boyfriend. Miss Meyers just wanted a baby, so we hooked up for a while,” he said, shrugging.
Hearing Vino’s crude words, Gabrielle gestured sharply to her assistant, telling her to take Kendra out of the
room.
Brianna quickly stepped in, her voice firm. “Mom, Kendra deserves to know the truth!”
Gabrielle glanced at Brandon, who gave a nod. Since it concerned their child, Gabrielle let it go and said nothing more,
“Did you two know each other before?” Brianna pressed.
“No, not really,” Vino replied, frowning as if he was trying to recall. Then he gave a sheepish smile. “Maybe? I work the nightlife scene, and I’ve been with so many wealthy women, honestly, I can’t remember them all.”
“Why did Darcy want your baby?” Brianna asked.
Vino rubbed his nose and made a face. “In this business, you pay up, and we try to make any wish come true. Money talks, that’s all there is to it.”
“Didn’t you think it was weird when she got pregnant with your kid?” Brianna pressed.
“Miss Meyers paid me plenty, and we had a deal. The kid wouldn’t be my responsibility. Someone wants to have my baby, and you high–class types are gonna raise it. I’m totally fine with that,” Vino shrugged.
Brianna glanced at the Levy family. Brandon’s eyes were as deep as the ocean, his back ramrod straight, and his whole presence radiated a lethal aura.

Brianna dropped the towel and gave a mocking smile. “So, Darcy, what do you have to say for yourself now?”
Darcy’s forehead veins popped, her gaze was like a viper’s. She looked ready to tear Brianna apart herself.
“Even if the baby isn’t Brandon’s,” Darcy turned to Brandon, instantly switching to a helpless, innocent look. “That night, we spent it together as husband and wife.”
Before anyone could answer, she gave Brianna a challenging glare, a mocking smile curling at the corners of her mouth.
“I slept with Brandon. Isn’t it true you can’t tolerate even a hint of betrayal? Your husband cheated on you. Are you really going to stick it out like your mom did, refusing to leave even after being betrayed?”
Brandon turned to look at Brianna, his eyes locked on her.
Gabrielle looked clearly irritated, turning as well to watch Brianna’s reaction.
“Nothing happened between you and Brandon that night,” Brianna said offhandedly.
She was gambling with her words.
The day after the financing event, Darcy rushed to Vino in a panic. Perhaps she feared she hadn’t gotten pregnant, or perhaps Brandon had simply been too drunk that night for anything to happen.
“You spiked Brandon’s orange juice, but Tristan ended up drinking it instead, right?” Brianna said.
She pulled out her phone and projected the surveillance footage from that night onto the TV in the private
room.
On the screen, Brandon was so drunk he could barely stand, almost needing the driver to prop him up as he stumbled into the room.
Brianna fixed Darcy with a contemptuous stare, clearly testing how well she could handle the pressure.
With all the evidence laid out, Darcy was completely rattled.
She slipped right back into her delicate damsel routine, her big, pleading eyes fixed on Brandon like a helpless puppy. “Brandon, everything I did was because I love you.”
Brianna said nothing, her face giving nothing away. “Do you really love him, or are you just after his money and power?”
“Enough!” Whitney slammed his hand on the table, his whole body shaking with rage as he glared at Brianna. “Do you really have to wipe us out? Is it not enough for you unless you leave us with nothing?”
Brianna let out a helpless laugh and shot back, “Am I the one going for total annihilation here? If I really wanted you all gone, would I have tolerated you for so many years?”
All those memories surged up, and Brianna, her anger barely contained, stared her father down. “Just tell me,

did those two homewreckers have anything to do with my mom’s death? And were you involved?”
Whitney’s bravado faltered, but he forced himself to answer, “Your mother’s death was an accident. The police handled it back then, and there’s an official case report.”
“Is that so?” Brianna’s eyes brimmed with tears. “Wasn’t it Blanca who called my mom, telling her you named Darcy ‘Brianne‘? Wasn’t that what pushed her over the edge and caused the accident?”
Whitney caught the icy, indifferent stares from the Levy family out of the corner of his eye. His heart sank, everything spiraling out of control. He knew it was game over, the end of the line.
He slumped into his chair, a trace of bitterness and defeat on his face. “Why can’t you just let the past go?”
Brianna was once again sickened by his shameless reasoning. She burst out laughing, as if she’d just heard a hilarious joke, then pressed him, “And what about the time Darcy pushed me off that cliff? What’s your excuse
for that?”
Her words hit like a bolt of lightning, and everyone in the room gasped.
Brandon’s gaze was razor–sharp, aimed straight at Darcy.
Brandon struggled to keep his anger in check as he turned to Brianna. “Wait, are you saying what happened last year wasn’t just some accident? You didn’t just fall off the cliff?”
Brianna ignored him and walked over to Kendra, crouching down and placing her hand on her daughter’s shoulder. “Kendra, tell your dad. When you broke your leg at the ski resort last year, was it really an accident, or did Darcy have something to do with it?”
All eyes snapped to Kendra at once, the tension in the room suddenly palpable.
‘Seriously? That evil woman would even go after a kid?‘ everyone thought, stunned.
Kendra looked at her father, then at Darcy, her expression shifting from confusion to worry and back again.
Darcy’s desperate, pleading gaze tugged at Kendra’s heart, making it almost impossible for her to speak the truth.
But seeing the pain in her mother’s face tonight, Kendra realized that if she kept hiding the truth, she might lose her mother for good.
When Darcy hurled the glass at her mother and Kendra watched the blood drip down, for the first time ever, she felt a surge of anger toward her aunt.
Finally, Kendra looked at her mother and nodded slowly. “It was Aunt Darcy.”
Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Darcy lost it, shrieking, “You’re making this up! Don’t threaten your own daughter just to pin this on me!”
Brianna didn’t even bother responding. She released Kendra and strode straight over to stand behind Margo.

“So, where did Kendra’s skateboard end up?” Brianna demanded, locking eyes with Margo. “And tell me, all those times Darcy tracked us down no matter where we went, who kept tipping her off?”
Gabrielle cast a displeased look at Margo, clearly waiting for her to deny it.
Margo chuckled dryly, then gave a slow, sarcastic clap, her mockery obvious.
“I really did underestimate you. Yeah, I’ve been helping Darcy mess up your family, but don’t flatter yourself. My real target is my precious little brother, Brandon!”
Gabrielle looked at her daughter, stunned. “Why?”
“Go ask your darling son what he’s done,” Margo replied, shooting a bitter look at Brandon.
Brianna ignored her and walked back to her seat.
Facing the Meyers family, whose faces were drained of all hope, she smirked. “Dad, you’ve asked me more than once if I really had to wipe you all out. But did you ever ask Darcy? Or yourself? Did you ever wonder if you had to go after me like that?”
Whitney stayed silent, his mind racing as he watched Brandon closely, desperately hoping to find a lifeline for his daughter.
Blanca’s eyes were blazing red with fury, looking like she wanted to rip Brianna to shreds. She muttered a curse through gritted teeth. “Why didn’t you just die when you fell?”
