Chapter 123
By the time Brandon ran outside, Patsy had already driven off with Brianna.

They rushed to the hospital and got checked in at the ER. It turned out to be just a minor injury, nothing serious.
The nurse cleaned and bandaged Brianna’s wound, then told her to wait half an hour to make sure there were no other issues before leaving.
It was already late, and after all the chaos tonight, Patsy felt like she’d finally settled the score. Her gaze toward Brianna was full of admiration.
“You finally stood up for yourself,” Patsy said.
Brianna smiled, and a lot of the weight in her chest seemed to lift.
“So you’re really just going to walk away from that train wreck at Unity Group?” Patsy asked.
“Yeah,” Brianna replied calmly. “I think my mom’s watching from above. She’d understand why I made this choice.”
“Alright, whatever you decide, I’ve got your back,” Patsy said, giving her arm a reassuring pat. She glanced at her watch. “It’s almost been half an hour. Are you feeling alright?”
Brianna stood up. “Let’s go.”
“Want to grab a late–night snack?” Patsy asked, looping her arm through Brianna’s as they walked out of the hospital.
“Yeah, I’m starving,” Brianna admitted. She didn’t even get to eat dinner.
Just as they stepped out of the ER, they bumped into Brandon, who was rushing in.
Brianna was caught off guard. ‘Why is he here?‘
“Why are you here?” she asked.
“Are you okay? Is it serious?” Brandon asked, his voice full of concern. His eyes fixed on the bandage on her forehead, and he reached out without thinking to touch it.
Brianna turned her head away, dodging his touch. “It’s nothing, just a minor injury.”
“Come on, let’s go home,” Brandon said, reaching out to steady her by the arm.
“Um…” Brianna hesitated, wanting to refuse. She really didn’t feel like going home right now.
“Let’s go back and see Kendra,” Brandon said, his voice soft and almost pleading.
After he said it, he froze for a second, a little stunned. ‘Since when did I start using our daughter as an excuse

to get her to come back?’
:
Brianna paused, thinking. After everything tonight, she really should check on Kendra.
“Alright,” she agreed, though her tone was reluctant.
Patsy gave her a playful wink.
“See
you tomorrow,” she said, then drove off.

As Brianna got into the car with Brandon, she sat quietly, waiting for him to say something. She knew seeing Kendra was just an excuse. He really wanted to talk to her about something else.
What does he want this time? Is he going to ask me to pretend nothing happened and forgive Darcy again, just like always?‘ she thought, feeling a bit annoyed.
Brandon pressed his lips together, his face serious as he struggled to keep his emotions in check.
When they got home, Judy brought out some late–night snacks, her face lit up with a warm smile.
“Mrs. Levy, Mr. Levy asked me to prepare something light for you. Hope you like it.”
Brianna gave a polite smile. ‘Looks like everyone in the house already knows about tonight’s drama.’
“Where’s Kendra?” she asked.
“Kendra’s in the shower. I’ll go let her know you’re here,” Judy replied.
Brianna sat down at the dining table, and Brandon took the seat next to her, gently ladling some food into her bowl..
“Just say whatever’s on your mind,” Brianna said, cutting straight to the point.
Brandon had a thousand things he wanted to tell her, but when he finally opened his mouth, the words came out were all so far from what he really felt.
“Well, did Darcy actually push you off that cliff?” Brandon asked, his tone still detached and rational.
Brianna arched an eyebrow, locking eyes with him. “Yeah. She did.”
Brandon’s heart tightened, like someone had reached in and squeezed it hard.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, thick with emotion.
“Would you have believed me?” Brianna replied, slowly chewing her food, not rushing her words.
Brandon was stunned, unable to find any words.
That weird, suffocating feeling in his chest was almost too much, guilt and regret weighing him down. But somehow, he just couldn’t get the words “I’m sorry” out.

“I’m sorry, honey. I didn’t protect you, and I didn’t protect your mom. But from now on, I promise I won’t let anyone hurt either of you again.”
Brandon felt like he’d totally messed up. All that work he’d put into keeping things looking good and holding the family together was all falling apart, full of cracks he couldn’t fix.
Brianna felt a brief surge of emotion at his words, but it vanished almost instantly, leaving her calm and collected once more.
Just a little longer. Once everything’s taken care of, I’ll finally be free,‘ she thought to herself.
“Kendra,” Brianna said, fixing her daughter with a serious look. “Being part of the Levy family means a lot of people will try to get close to you. You have to learn to tell who’s real and who’s fake, only then can you truly protect yourself.”
“Your dad and I can’t always be there for you,” Brianna continued.
Kendra listened, feeling so upset she couldn’t hold it in anymore. Her tears fell in a steady stream, like pearls from a broken necklace.
She reached for her mother, asking for a hug.
Brianna took her daughter into her arms, gently patting her back to comfort her.
Just as the family was wrapped up in a heartfelt moment, Brandon’s phone rang, cutting sharply through the
warmth.
Brandon scowled as he picked up the phone. It was his assistant.
‘What does he want at this hour?‘ He wondered, annoyance clear on his face.
“Hello?” Brandon answered, his tone curt and impatient.
“Mr. Levy, something bad happened. Mrs. Levy’s private photos just got out online,” the assistant said, his voice shaky with worry.
Brandon gripped his phone, his eyes locked on Brianna, deep and impossible to read.
‘Some people need to disappear, he thought, his expression turning icy.
