Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire

Chapter 141 Returning the Longevity Locket

Josefina’s birthday party was once again held at the estate.

The banquet hall sparkled under the dazzling crystal chandeliers, light shimmering everywhere. It was Josefina’s grand 30th birthday celebration, and the place was filled with high society, the air rich with perfume and elegance.

Brianna stood beside Brandon in an elegant gown, handling the stream of guests with graceful composure. She maintained a polite smile, but only Brandon could sense how tense her grip was on his arm.

“If you’re tired, go take a break in the lounge,” Brandon murmured.

“It’s alright. Today is Josefina’s big day,” Brianna said softly, shaking her head. As her gaze swept casually toward the entrance, it suddenly stopped.

Allison walked in with her arm hooked through Kane’s, moving with effortless grace.

Kane’s arrival set off a buzz at the entrance.

Allison had helped the Levy family out of a tough spot, making her an honored guest, so Brianna had expected her presence.

Allison wore a sharply tailored dark red suit dress, her whole demeanor exuding confidence. She looked less like she was here for a party and more like she was about to buy out the place.

When Brandon saw Allison, the smile on his lips reached his eyes.

Allison and Kane had already spotted them, a hint of a knowing smile tugging at their lips as they walked straight over.

“Nice to see you again, Mrs. Levy,” Kane said, reaching past Brandon to shake Brianna’s hand first.

“Thank you for coming,” Brianna replied, taking his hand.

Kane noticed the precise firmness in her handshake and the polite, deliberate distance as she quickly let go, a subtle smile appearing on his lips.

Margo stepped forward with a smile, opening her arms for a hug. “Allison, I didn’t expect to see you here.”

“How could I say no when Mr. Levy personally invited me?” Allison replied with a soft laugh. “Besides, I was looking forward to seeing you.”

“Now that you’re joining the Levy Group, we’ll get to see each other a lot more,” Margo said, shooting a subtle glance at Brianna.

“And who might this be?” Margo asked, her gaze lingering on Kane as she addressed Allison.

Kane was Seavale’s wealthiest man, and after everything that happened with Benedict, Margo definitely recognized him. She was just trying to figure out what was really going on between him/and Allison.

“He’s my business partner, Kane Flynn,” Allison said, leaving their relationship status deliberately vague, her arm still comfortably looped through Kane’s.

Just then, Josefina beckoned them over. She clasped Allison’s hand, fussing over her in that warm, grandmotherly way.

Allison presented her gift. It was a rosewood box, small enough to fit in her palm.

Josefina opened it, revealing a longevity locket carved from creamy white gemstone. She had gone all the way to Mount Yulora to pray for this charm the year Brandon was born.

Allison smiled. “Brandon gave me this locket years ago, but I never had the chance to give it back. So today, I brought it along, figured it was only right to return it to you in person, Mrs. Levy.”

Her words weren’t as simple as they sounded, and the atmosphere instantly turned heavy.

Brandon’s jaw tightened instantly.

“I was wondering where this locket had disappeared to all these years. Honestly, I thought Brandon had lost it Josefina said, ever the seasoned matriarch. She stroked the locket fondly, then placed it back in the box and handed it to Brianna.

“Keep it safe. I went all the way to Mount Yulora just to pray for this. Let Kendra wear it. Maybe she’ll turn out as accomplished as Brandon someday.”

Brianna took the box, replying with a calm “Alright” and a steady smile.

There wasn’t a hint of embarrassment on Allison’s face.

As more guests came up to talk, Brandon and Kane stepped away from the crowd.

Brianna pulled Patsy over to sit next to Margo, then leaned in and said, “Margo, about that project you mentioned the other day, we’ll take it.”

Margo arched her brow, a hint of surprise flickering across her face. After a brief pause, she replied, “Alright, I’ll have my assistant get everything set up and then reach out to you.”

As Brianna and Patsy walked away, Brianna couldn’t help but chuckle to herself, then turned to Patsy with a teasing smile.

“Last year at the birthday party, Brandon brought Darcy and caused a scene. This year, it’s the same old story, just with a different cast, not much difference, huh?” Brianna joked.

Parsy smiled. “There’s a difference. You’ve changed.”

As they were chatting, the Harper family showed up.

Brianna hurried over. “Grandma, you came!”

Caroline hadn’t been feeling well lately. Her posture was straight and her smile unwavering, but the pallor of her face betrayed her frail health.

“It’s my dear friend’s 80th birthday, how could I not come?” Caroline said, patting Brianna’s hand.

After greeting her uncle and aunt, Brianna helped Caroline over to Josefina. Once the two grandmas met, they dove right into conversation, barely pausing for breath.

Allison got up and joined Brandon and Kane, slipping right into their conversation.

As soon as she walked over, she turned Brandon toward her and straightened his tie, the move so casual and intimate it was obvious she’d done it countless times before.

Brianna watched from afar, narrowing her eyes.

Tristan and Zoe showed up fashionably late, arm in arm.

After presenting their gift to Josefina, Zoe went off to chat with Gabrielle and the other ladies, while Tristan slipped over and plopped down next to Brianna and Patsy.

Tristan glanced over at Allison and her group, waggling his eyebrows. “Why are they here?”
