Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire
Chapter 161 Omens in the Dream
Late at night, Brianna curled up in the corner of the study, her laptop balanced on her knees. The glow of the screen made her knuckles look pale..
She’d just casually searched for “Levy Group,” but a flood of news articles popped up. The headline that stood out the most was: [Levy Group’s Overseas Assets Under Siege by Politics and Business-Financial Chain May Collapse Completely].
Those lines felt like nails driven straight into her eyes.
‘So that’s how it is, Brianna thought.
No wonder Brandon had signed over almost all his assets to her in the divorce agreement. Back then, she’d thought it was compensation, guilt, or maybe even a last bit of love.
But now, it was obvious. He was just laying down a last escape route for his daughter. If he ever ended up behind bars, at least Brianna and her girl would still have a way out.
Brianna closed her laptop, her fingers tapped out a faint ticking on the wooden table, like a countdown.
She remembered Kane’s chilling remark. “Allison? She’s cold-blooded.” Right now, each word felt like a barb, making Brianna’s heart shudder.
At two in the morning, Brianna curled up under the covers, but it felt like she was plunging into a shadowy jungle.
In her dream, the darkness was so thick that it felt almost tangible.
With Brandon leading and her following close behind, they stepped over rotting leaves, heading deeper. Suddenly, cold scales brushed against her ankle-two snakes, as thick as a man’s wrist, one green and one red, slithered up and wrapped around her without a sound.
She screamed, tearing at them desperately, her palms torn and bleeding from the rough scales. Just as she was about to suffocate, a sudden force yanked her out of the deadly coils.
She fell hard into the mud, gasping for air, only to see the red snake had wrapped Brandon up in a bloody cocoon, the coils growing tighter with every second. His mouth opened in a silent scream, desperate to tell her to run, but not a single sound escaped.
Brianna lunged forward, but the red snake suddenly turned, shedding its scales to reveal Allison’s flawless yet fake face.
Allison’s red lips formed a merciless curve, her forked tongue tracing Brianna’s ear. “I want his life. And I want your money, too.”
Brianna woke up screaming, her pajamas soaked through with sweat, as if she’d been doused with cold water.
She turned her head to see her daughter sleeping soundly beside her. Stumbling over, she pressed her face against her daughter’s soft little body, listening to the steady rhythm of her heartbeat, only then managing to
swallow back the metallic taste in her throat.

Outside, the city lights at four a.m. were few and far between, scattered like lonely stars abandoned in the night.
Brianna softly rubbed her daughter’s back, murmuring gentle words to lull her to sleep, but her jaw trembled uncontrollably. That wasn’t just a dream. It was an omen.
At seven in the morning, Brianna dropped her daughter off at school. Kendra, with her pink backpack, kept turning around every few steps, calling out in her baby voice, “Don’t forget to pick me up early, Mommy!”
Brianna crouched down, gently tucking a stray lock of hair behind Kendra’s ear, her smile soft and warm. But as she turned away, she wiped the smile from her face.
At nine-thirty, Brianna walked into the top-floor conference room at Unity Group, clutching a manila envelope. It was barely half an inch thick, but felt so heavy her knuckles turned white.
Inside the envelope was the Share Transfer Agreement Brandon had signed back when he first acquired Unity Group.
He’d bought 76% of Unity Group’s shares, and in the recipient section, her name-Brianna Meyers-was typed perfectly, not a single digit off, even her ID number was spot-on.
Back then, she’d been giving him the cold shoulder, and Unity Group was stuck in a restructuring mess. She was too proud for her own good and didn’t even touch the pen, just sent the documents right back, untouched.
Now, looking back at the divorce agreement, everything was spelled out under “Marital Assets”-the villas, the funds, even those Patek Philippe watches he always wore and the priceless jewelry. But Unity Group? Not a
trace.
He’d been preparing for this day from the very beginning.
The paperwork was processed in no time.
As the manager gave his presentation, when the slideshow hit the third page, Brianna’s breathing grew unsteady.
Those prime properties in Valmere that had nearly crushed Unity Group were now the very heart of its cash flow.
The numbers on the screen were insane. Sales had skyrocketed tenfold year-over-year, the debt ratio had dropped to 30%, and there were billions in cash sitting in the accounts.
But what really stood out was the management roster-two of Brandon’s most trusted lieutenants were still there. Brandon had protected her mother’s life’s work and built a fortress for Brianna and her daughter’s future.
Suddenly, the conference room felt unbearably cold, the air conditioning chilling Brianna to the bone. Her fingertips unconsciously pressed into her palm, a nervous habit she couldn’t shake.
Her mind flashed back to last night’s nightmare-the red snake shedding its scales, and underneath, Allison’s lips twisted into a mocking smile.

As the presentation ended and applause filled the room, it hit Brianna: her palms were covered in crescent- shaped nail marks.
Brianna stood up and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows.
From the 45th floor, the city lay at her feet-cars crawling below like tiny, insignificant ants.
The glass reflected her silhouette-crisp white shirt, black pencil skirt, makeup flawless, but the bloodshot eyes beneath it all gave her away.
Brianna took out her phone and tapped on the number she hadn’t contacted in almost half a month.
Her finger hovered above the call button, trembling so slightly it was barely noticeable.
‘Should I give him a heads-up?’ Brianna thought. ‘From what position? How can I be sure he’ll even believe
me?’
Outside, a heavy cloud loomed overhead, and the first raindrop splintered across the glass, breaking into four pieces.
Brianna suddenly closed her eyes, drew in a deep breath, and let the screen go dark with a firm press.
When she opened her eyes again, any trace of hesitation had vanished.
She’d make sure to meet Allison face-to-face, on her own terms.
As for Brandon, she’d wait until he was really gasping for air, tangled up in the snake, before deciding if she’d lend a hand.
This time, she wouldn’t let pride or mercy hold her back. She wanted Brandon to see for himself that she wasn’t just someone who could protect Unity Group. She could flip the whole board upside down if she wanted.
Just as Brianna was about to leave Unity Group, a deep male voice called out from behind her, familiar, restrained, and respectful.
“Mrs. Levy,” he said.
Brianna paused and turned around. It was Declan Guzman, Brandon’s former executive assistant.
“Flynn Group’s people will be here at three. Kane is coming in person from Seavale,” Declan said, his voice dropping lower. “Maybe you should… stick around and finish the meeting.”
The name “Kane” stabbed into her mind like a needle. Brianna’s fingers tightened around her bag strap, faint click of the metal clasp echoing in the silence.
the
‘Kane?’ Brianna thought. ‘Is Kane the snake that’s been circling me all along?’
Brianna lowered her gaze, masking the cold flash in her eyes. When she looked up again, her lips curled into just the right smile. “Alright, let’s meet.”

At ten past three, the conference room door was pushed open.
Backlit by the afternoon light, a man strode in on long legs, dressed in a deep gray notched lapel suit. His shoulders were so sharp, it looked like he could cut through the air.
His shirt was buttoned all the way up, not a thread out of place. He looked so coldly ascetic, it was almost inhuman.
He was nothing like the cool, distant, and playful young aristocrat she remembered, the one with his shirt open to the collarbone, flashing that devil-may-care smile.
Kane came to a halt, his eyes locking onto Brianna’s across the long table, a collision of gazes that sent a jolt through the room.
The shadows and calculation in his eyes faded away the instant he saw her, but his lips twitched upward involuntarily a hint of a smile he didn’t even realize was there.
That sudden curve broke through his frosty expression, leaving a visible crack in his cold composure.
“Ms. Meyers?” Kane spoke in a low voice, the air conditioning making it crisp and razor-sharp. “What brings you here?”
Before she could respond, he’d already moved around the table, stopping right in front of her. They were close enough for Brianna to catch the faint cedar scent from his collar, mingling with the lingering warmth from outside-like a slow-burning fire trapped beneath ice.
Brianna leaned back slightly, her voice polite but distant. “Mr. Flynn, it’s been a while.”
Those words hung between them like a sheet of glass-clear, cold, and perfectly dividing the space.
Kane’s eyes narrowed, the faint, involuntary smile fading under her coldness. For a split second, a flicker of hurt flashed in his eyes, so quick that it almost seemed imagined.
The general manager stood up at just the right moment, his laughter breaking the tension. “So you two know each other? Even better.
