Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire (Brianna Meyers and Brandon Levy) novel Chapter 160

Chapter 160 Dealing with Nancy

66

On the third day Tristan started at Horizon Group, his vibe had already taken over the whole floor. By the coffee machine, there was always someone trying to imitate his signature hands-in-pockets and eyebrow-

raise move.

In the meeting rooms, the girls called him “Mr. Pratt” as naturally as they would their favorite pop star. Even the janitors were grinning as they mopped the floors.

The day Pratt Group kicked him out, the whole business world was waiting to see the heir of the Pratt family crash and burn.

But looking at him now, there wasn’t a trace of the fallen prince left.

The more he shone, the more uneasy Brianna felt. Terry had made it clear, “If you want back in the Pratt family, you’d better learn to get on your knees.”

If Tristan really refused to get on his knees, things between him and his father would only get worse.

Brianna had thought Tristan was just here out of spite, but he was actually working hard, and that left her at a loss.

She took a deep breath, just as Tristan came over to her with some files in hand.

“Ms. Meyers, there’s something I need to talk to you about…” Tristan said.

Before he could finish, the office door was slammed open with a bang.

Nancy stormed in, her ten-centimeter studded heels clicking with every step, her coat trailing behind, bringing a chill with her.

“Everyone’s here, huh? Just what I wanted!” she sneered.

Her eyes were rimmed red, but her lips curled into a cold, mocking smile. She tossed her iced coffee right at Tristan’s feet, the brown liquid splashing onto his shiny leather shoes, like a public humiliation, right in front of everyone.

“Tristan, it’s barely been a week since we broke up, and you’re already desperate to become the live-in son-in- law for this tiny company?” Nancy snapped.

She spun around, her finger nearly poking Brianna right in the face. “Ms. Meyers, last time you swore to me, ‘We’re just friends.’ Friends who end up in bed together, huh?”

The air practically hummed as everyone in the office peeked out, instantly turning the place into a full-blown gossip fest.

Brianna felt her blood rush to her head, her ears pounding. Just as she was about to speak, Tristan stepped in front of her, shielding her.

“Nancy, what are you trying to pull now?” Tristan said.

His voice was low, but it hit like an ice pick. “The engagement’s off. Are you really here to put on some melodramatic show?”

Tristan’s jawline was razor-sharp, his eyes icy cold, but then he suddenly let out a low chuckle.

“Oh, I see what’s going on. You’re trying to back out of what we agreed, went crying to my Grandfather, and now he’s telling you the Pratt family bride has to be you, huh?” Tristan said, his tone sharp.

That line struck her right at her weak spot.

Nancy’s face turned deathly pale, her fingers shaking. “You…you’re really going to give up your family for her! Mr. Pratt already said that if you come back with me today, the General Manager position is yours!”

“General Manager?” Tristan sneered, taking his ID badge from his chest pocket and tossing it onto the desk

with a smack.

“If you want it so much, let him hand it to you!” he said.

He turned to Brianna, raised an eyebrow, his voice low and bold. “Ms. Meyers, mind if I have your office for thirty seconds? I need to kick everyone out.”

Before Brianna could react, Tristan leaned in, grabbed Nancy by the scruff of her neck, and dragged her to the door like she was a stray cat.

“Listen,” he spoke coldly in her ear, “I never loved you, and I will never marry you. Take the money and leave. That’s your best option.”

With that, he was about to push Nancy out the door.

But Nancy slipped away from his grip and came right back into the office.

Brianna watched the drama drag on, thinking, ‘This is just pointless. It’s the same mess over and over. What a waste of time.’

“You two talk it out. I’m heading out,” she said.

With that, she sidestepped them and made for the door.

“Leaving?” Nancy grabbed her arm, her eyes brimming with tears. “You mess up everyone’s lives, and now you think you can just walk away?”

“Nancy!” Tristan warned through gritted teeth.

How did I mess up your lives, exactly?” Brianna stopped, deciding it was better to clear things up face-to-face.

“Nancy, you keep showing up and causing drama, saying you two are fighting because of me. Alright, let’s settle it right here in front of Tristan. What about me, huh? What did I do?”

Nancy shook her head with contempt, her smile dripping with sarcasm. “Ms. Meyers, you really are the textbook definition of a bitch.”

Brianna held back the urge to slap her, her gaze icy as she demanded, “Tell me, Nancy. How am I a bitch, exactly?”

“Enough, Nancy. I never liked you, not ever, not for a second. This isn’t about anyone else,” Tristan said.

He grabbed Nancy by the wrist, ready to haul her out of the office.

“Tristan,” Brianna called, stopping him. “Nancy managed to barge into my office just to throw a tantrum. What’s there to keep quiet about? Since she’s here, let’s lay it all out.”

“Alright!” Nancy glared at her, full of defiance.

“Speak up, Nancy. What do you really want?” Brianna folded her arms across her chest.

“I want you two to never see each other again,” Nancy said through clenched teeth. “Delete each other’s numbers, right here in front of me.”

Brianna just stared at her, utterly dumbfounded.

Tristan’s expression darkened instantly. “Nancy!”

“Ms. Meyers, I want you to swear on your daughter’s life and promise me you’ll never see Tristan again,” Nancy spat.

Brianna slapped her hard, the sound echoing through the room. Her anger finally snapped as she pointed right at Nancy. “I’ve let you off so many times because you’re young, but you really think I’m just being soft on you?”

Bringing up her kid hit Brianna’s last nerve. She grabbed Nancy by the collar, her voice icy. “How did Reese and Darcy get on that cruise in Port City, huh? Do you dare tell Tristan the truth? Legally, you’re an accomplice. I could have you locked up,” she warned.

“And don’t think I don’t know you’ve been following my daughter’s school schedule. You’d better cut out those creepy moves, or I’ll make sure you end up in jail myself,” she threatened.

Nancy completely ignored Brianna’s warning, acting like she hadn’t heard a word.

“So Mrs. Levy actually cares about her daughter? I wonder what your kid would think if she knew her mom was such a manipulative bitch…” Nancy sneered.

Brianna could tell Nancy had no sense of limits. If she kept letting this girl off the hook, she’d just end up causing real trouble.

She called the office manager over and told him to call the cops.

Kevin was nearby on business when he heard Nancy was in trouble. He rushed to Horizon Group, making it there before the police even showed up.

Seeing Nancy with her swollen cheeks and tear-stained face, he jumped to the conclusion that Tristan and Brianna had bullied his daughter.

Without bothering to find out what really happened, he marched right up and demanded, “Mr. Pratt, Tristan, you’ve already called off the engagement. What more do you want? How long are you going to keep pushing us around?”

Tristan had called Kevin over, thinking he’d actually be reasonable and talk things out.

But watching him blindly defend Nancy, Tristan just snorted, about to say something when Brianna jumped

in first.

“So you’re Nancy’s dad, huh? Well, I’ve already called the cops about her. We’ll wait for them to show up and let them sort it out,” Brianna said.

Kevin had Nancy late in life. She was his precious girl, and he’d spoiled her since forever. He’d heard Nancy say before that Tristan dumped her because of Brianna.

Right now, he didn’t care about anything else. Seeing his daughter all teary-eyed, he was ready to raise hell for her, no matter who he was up against.
