Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire
Chapter 166 Margo and Kane’s Scheme
According to the divorce agreement, the villa they lived in now belonged to Brianna.
Brianna had originally planned to move out with Kendra, but after what happened, Kendra kept saying she was scared. Brianna worried that leaving their familiar home would make it even harder for Kendra to recover from the trauma, so she decided to stay put.
On the afternoon they finalized the divorce, Brandon and Allison flew off to Ashville. His legal battles, his reputation, his whole future-everything was waiting for him across the ocean.
His belongings were still lying untouched around the house.
Every day, Brianna walked past them without sparing even a glance.
Now that her mind was finally unshackled, those things lost the weight they once carried. The freedom she sought was never about clearing out closets. It was about finding true peace within herself.
As the wind swept by, the cold indifference at the corner of her eyes was so faint it was almost transparent- more resolute than any outburst. She wanted nothing Brandon left behind, and she never looked back at anything he couldn’t take with him.
During the day, she was constantly on the go, juggling investments at Unity Group and design projects at Horizon Group. At night, she helped Kendra with her homework and guided her through her emotions, yet she never felt exhausted.
Only a woman whose career was thriving and whose heart was free could feel truly fulfilled.
She quietly laughed at herself.
Just as the city’s neon lights began to flicker across the glass facades, Brianna’s phone rang. It was the prosecutor.
His voice was cold, official, and completely devoid of emotion. “The trial for Darcy is scheduled for next week. You are her only relative outside of custody. Will you be hiring a lawyer for her?”
A chilly wind swept over the rooftop terrace, making her hair flutter like a silent banner.
She lifted her gaze, city lights shimmering in her eyes, but none of them could reach that name.
“No,” Brianna said, her tone sharp and unwavering.
The prosecutor responded in a businesslike manner and hung up. Brianna gripped her phone, her fingers tense, but only curled her lips into a faint, mocking smile-indifferent, and finally at ease.
At the far end of the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city’s skyscrapers rose like an urban jungle, their lights weaving together into a shifting galaxy.
She stood still, pressing her palm against the cold glass. Her breath fogged the surface, briefly obscuring her reflection.

“It’s almost over,” she whispered.

Once winter passed and she wrapped up the spring collaboration with Dexter Gems, Brianna would take her daughter and make Valeentia their new home.
The sunlight in Sicara was so intense that it could chase away the shadows haunting Kendra’s dreams, bit by bit.
Right now, the night wind was blowing hard, but a tiny, bright flame flickered in Brianna’s eyes-the first flicker of hope for the next chapter of her life.
The bathroom door swung open, and a wave of steam carrying the scent of orange blossom shampoo spilled out. Kendra stood there in her cozy pajamas, her hair dripping wet, looking just like a little kitten caught in the rain.
Brianna bent down, a doting smile curling at her lips as she wrapped a towel around Kendra’s head.
The hair dryer buzzed, warm air flowing through her fingers.
But Kendra was unusually quiet, her lashes casting delicate shadows beneath the light.
Brianna’s heart gave a sudden jolt, but she kept her face composed, her fingertips gently combing through Kendra’s hair.
The bedside lamp was turned down to its lowest setting, and Brianna and Kendra lay side by side.
Brianna opened the picture book and had just started reading the first line when Kendra suddenly turned to her, her eyes filled with hurt.
“Mom,” Kendra whispered, her voice so soft it was almost inaudible, “are you and Dad… really over?”
Brianna’s breath caught, and the pages trembled in her fingers.
Brianna kept her composure, smoothing Kendra’s bangs as she asked, “Who told you that?”
Kendra didn’t answer. She just buried her face in Brianna’s shoulder, her voice muffled and trembling. “Is Dad never coming back? Does he… not want me anymore?”
With every question, Kendra’s shoulders tensed even more, and her tears trickled down Brianna’s collarbone, making her skin sting.
Brianna sat up straight, gently but firmly cradling Kendra’s damp cheeks in her hands, guiding her daughter’s gaze to meet her own.
“Kendra, your dad is just facing some difficulties right now. Once he gets through them, he’ll come back to be with you. He loves you deeply, and he would never abandon you,” Brianna said softly.
As she spoke, Brianna realized just how rough and raspy her own voice sounded.
Even though her marriage had fallen apart, Brianna would never tarnish Brandon’s image in front of their daughter. His love for Kendra had always been her strongest pillar of support.

“But…” Kendra sobbed, her tears falling in big drops onto the sheets.

“Aunt Margo said Dad left us for the woman he always loved, and he’s never coming back. She said you’ll get married again, have other kids, and send me to live with Grandma…” Kendra whispered.
Each word was like a nail, hammering into Brianna’s heart one after another.
Brianna hugged Kendra close, her hand pressed firmly against her daughter’s shaking back, as if her embrace could seal away every rumor and whisper.
“I’ll stay by your side as you grow up. Believe me, will you?” Brianna whispered, kissing the top of Kendra’s head. Her voice was soft, but there was a steely chill beneath the tenderness.
Anger churned in her chest, burning her eyes with a fierce ache.
Margo, the woman who always played the caring family member just to boss everyone around, had even gone so far as to sink her fangs into her eight-year-old.
Brianna gently wiped away Kendra’s tears, lowering her gaze to hide the fleeting resentment that flashed across her eyes.
She stroked Kendra’s back, slow and gentle, as if soothing a frightened little creature. But inside, the anger kept growing, burning fiercer with every moment.
‘Decency? Tolerance? Some people really think I’m easy to push around,’ Brianna thought.
The next morning, with the mist still lingering in the air, Brianna dropped Kendra off at school and then floored the gas, heading straight for the Levy Group headquarters downtown.
When Brianna arrived at the top floor of Levy Group, the assistants outside the CEO’s office were momentarily stunned, then quickly stood and greeted her with, “Mrs. Levy.”
That title had accompanied her through years of swallowing her pride. Now, it felt like nothing but pure irony.
Brianna gave a slight nod, her eyes skipping over the crowd and zeroing in on the double doors at the end of the corridor.
“Mrs. Levy, Mr. Levy is currently meeting with someone. Would you like me to let him know you’re here?” the assistant started.
Before the assistant could finish, Brianna walked right by, leaving behind a barely audible, “No need.”
The sharp scent of her perfume lingered, and in a daze, the assistant thought, ‘Mrs. Levy, who used to be so meek… she’s changed.’
Margo’s office door was left slightly ajar.
The conversation inside spilled out, loud and clear, straight into Brianna’s ears.

“Mr. Levy, you really don’t mess around,” a man said.
It was Kane.

His voice was practically buzzing with excitement. “Once I get what I’m after, I’ll make sure you stay firmly in the CEO seat at Levy Group.”
Margo let out a low chuckle, her voice flirty and dripping with disdain.
“Brianna’s got some real skills. Right out of college, she bagged Brandon, and now that he’s down and out, she’s caught your eye, Mr. Flynn. Guess I really underestimated her,” Margo said.
“When you’re in love, every woman looks like a goddess,” Kane replied lazily, his tone teasing and smug, as if he was showing off a trophy.
The moment Kane finished speaking, Brianna pushed the door open and stepped inside.
She applauded with a smile, but her eyes were icy and deep as a winter night. “What a brilliant duet. Plotting out my whole life together-funny how you both forgot to invite the main character.”
The room went dead silent.
Sunlight sliced through the blinds, landing on her bold lips.
The air seemed to vanish in an instant.
The moment Brianna pushed the door open, Margo and Kane both froze, their breaths catching at the same
time.
‘Why is she here?’ The question hung in the air.
