Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire

Chapter 173 Getting Remarried on Monday

As Brianna stepped out of the café, a light snow began to fall from the sky.

She looked up and saw a familiar figure coming toward her along the lonely path.

In the chilly wind, his cold and distant good looks seemed even more noble with the snow swirling around him.

With just a quick, unexpected glance, Brianna froze. Before she could slip away, he had already noticed her.

Brandon looked up, their eyes met, and he smirked, walking over with an easy stride.

“What are you doing here?” he asked.

The affectionate look on his face made Brianna feel a bit uncomfortable.

“Uh, just something,” she hesitated, then gave a wry smile. “I came to see Allison.”

Brandon’s face darkened, a flicker of surprise in his eyes.

“She’s here?” he asked.

Brianna blinked, caught off guard by his reaction.

‘Hold on, he’s not here for Allison?’ Brianna wondered.

“Weren’t you here to see her?” Brianna asked, her tone laced with sarcasm.

Brandon caught the sarcasm in her voice and gave her a plaintive look.

Just as he was about to explain, his gaze fixed intently past her shoulder, locking onto the person behind her. His eyes narrowed, his expression growing even colder.

“You’re back?” he said.

His tone was edged with an almost merciless sarcasm.

“Yeah.” Allison walked up gracefully, her smile bright and full of determination. “There are still some things we need to clear up.”

“I already said everything I needed to at the airport,” Brandon moved closer, his whole aura icy cold.

Allison smirked, leaning in so close she nearly brushed against him, and flicked a snowflake off his shoulder.

“Brandon, did you ever tell your ex-wife about what happened between us?” she asked.

As she spoke, she cast a seemingly casual glance at Brianna.

The word “ex-wife” struck a raw nerve in Brandon. His jaw tightened, anger simmering in his eyes.

What a joke, Brianna thought

As they kept talking, Brianna had no patience for their drama anymore, so the tarned and walked away without a word.

After Brandon finished talking with Allison, he turned to reach for Brianna’s hand, only to find she was already gone.

Panic set in. He quickly called her, afraid the might misunderstand.

Brianna held her phone, hesitated for a few seconds, then picked up.

She wasn’t interested in his explanation. She just didn’t want him turning up at the Harper family’s house or her office and stirring up unnecessary trouble.

“Hey, where are you?” Brandon asked, his voice full of hope, wishing she was still close by.

“I had something else to do, so I left, Brianna replied, her voice giving nothing away. “Did you need something?

Brandon rubbed his temples in frustration. “Are you avoiding me?”

“No Brianna was at a loss for words. Seriously, wasn’t he the one who used to dodge me all the time? Now that we’re divorced, what’s he playing at? she thought.

“Let’s talk, Brandon said, his voice softening, almost desperate.

“We’ll talk when we visit your Grandma’s this weekend, Brianna brushed him off. “It’s the end of the year, things are pretty busy.”

After a long pause, Brandon finally said, “Okay.”

Time flew by, and before she knew it, the weekend was here.

It had been days since Brianna last saw her daughter, so she went home early that morning. As Brianna and Kendra were about to have breakfast, Brandon was already there.

Not wanting to look cold in front of Kendra, Brianna took a seat right across from Brandon.

Brandon didn’t wait for the nanny. He got up and went straight to the kitchen.

He soon brought over a plate and utensils for Brianna, set them down in front of her, and thoughtfully served her favorite breakfast.

“Here, the salmon’s really good today,” he said.

Mom and Dad act so friendly, Kendra grinned happily.

miling at?” Brandon teased, messing up Kendra’s hair.

Dad totally loves Mom, Kendra said, shooting Brianna a mischievous, grown-up wink, her face full of gossip

Brianna just smiled and kept quiet. She didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of her daughter.

“Mom, when are you coming back home? Kendra asked.

Brianna was startled by her daughter’s question, her heart skipping a beat.

She looked up to find Brandon watching her, his gaze eager and expectant, clearly waiting for her reply.

“Kendra, there’s something I want to talk to you about, Brianna said, setting down her fork.

“After the New Year. I have to go work in Aurorian for a while. Would you like to come with me?”

She looked at Kendra, her expression serious.

Before Kendra could respond, Brandon cut in, his voice edged with surprise and irritation. “What are you going for? Why didn’t you tell me about this ahead of time?”

Brianna rolled her eyes at him and didn’t bother to reply.

Kendra looked from her mom to her dad and immediately sensed the subtle tension between them at the

table

“Is Dad coming with us?” Kendra asked, sounding hopeful.

“No!” Brianna replied, her tone leaving no room for argument. “Dad has his own business to deal with.”

She didn’t look at him, but she could easily picture the gloomy expression on his face. The coldness radiating from him was so strong, it felt like the warmth in the house had faded.

“Why isn’t Dad coming with us?” Kendra asked, her mood sinking.

Brianna didn’t look at Brandon. She braced herself, knowing that running away wouldn’t fix anything.

“Kendra, your dad and I aren’t together anymore, but we’ll always love you, no matter what,” she said softly.

“Sweetie, because of some grown-up stuff, your dad and I had to be apart for a while- Brianna started, but Brandon jumped in, “Now that I’m back, we’re going to be a real family again.”

Brandon interrupted her mid-sentence.

Brianna glanced at Brandon, confusion and a bit of annoyance in her eyes.

Brandon furrowed his brows. “Monday, we’re getting remarried at city hall.”

She could feel a wave of frustration boiling in her chest.

Brianna tried to keep her cool and asked Kendra in a gentle voice, “Are you finished eating: If you are, go get dressed-we’re heading to Josefina’s place.”

After handing Kendra over to James, Brianna took a deep breath and stormed upstairs.

The bedroom door was open. Brandon stood with his back to her, roughly unbuttoning his pajamas like he was fighting with them. He didn’t even turn when he heard her footsteps. His muscles were tense under the light, and he was practically radiating anger.

The whole thing with Tristan proposing-he’d already grilled her about that. And now she was just going to decide to leave the country on her own. All of it was swirling in his mind.
