Time flew by in a blink, and suddenly it was Monday, the big day for the company’s listing ceremony.
The event was slated to start at 10 a.m.

Brianna showed up at the office first thing in the morning, hustling with her team to set everything up. Around 9, the guests began arriving one by one.
She’d kept the invite list small: just family from the Harper and Levy sides, along with old friends like the Pratt family and Patsy’s crew.
As showtime approached, Josefina started getting fidgety. “Brianna, where’s Brandon?”
If he skipped out on supporting her, she’d have words with him later.
“Ah, you know how it is with these grown kids. They’re always swamped!” Caroline reassured her. Honestly, it was better if
he stayed away, the sooner the divorce, the sooner Brianna could move on to someone deserving.
Right then, Gabrielle swept in, flower wreath in hand and a big, bright smile plastered on her face.
Brianna was totally thrown. Gabrielle had always been against her venturing into business, but here she was, acting all thrilled.
She exchanged greetings with Mitch and Vickie then dove into a warm chat with Caroline.
Caroline kept her responses curt and cool, just polite enough.
With the clock ticking, Patsy herded everyone downstairs to the ceremony spot.

As they headed down, they caught sight of people striding over from a distance, an assistant in tow with a flower basket. It was Brandon and Darcy, holding hands with little Kendra.
They looked for all the world like a happy little family unit.
Patsy had brought in a handful of fashion mags and influencers to hype the brand. When the oblivious influencers spotted the duo, they lost it.
“Oh my God, actual celebrities!”
“Wow, she’s even more graceful in person, no surprise, being the lead in that ballet company.”
“Who’s the guy with her?”
“I think that’s Brandon, CEO of the Levy Group.”
“Ooh, a ruthless CEO and a sweet entertainment ingenue? I’m shipping this so hard.”
In this era of chasing clicks, capturing a celeb and a business mogul together was pure viral gold.
The influencers were buzzing with excitement, but everyone else had faces like thunder.
Darcy beamed brightly as she glided over and hooked her arm through Brianna’s.
“Mommy!” Kendra darted ahead, hugging Brianna’s waist and craning her neck up with wide eyes.

Darcy said, “Brianna, congrats! Now you’re a boss, just like Mom.”
Brianna yanked her arm free, gritting her teeth to keep from snapping.
Brandon approached, grabbing the flower wreath from his assistant. For once, he flashed a genuine smile as he presented it to her. “May you thrive and sail forth.”
Brianna took it with a strained grin, then spun on her heel, avoiding his gaze as she went off to mingle with relatives and friends, Kendra in hand.
Brandon brushed it off, making the rounds with the folks.
Patsy, though, wasn’t about to let it slide. She wedged herself between them, her voice laced with mockery.
She said, “Darcy, sweetie, not just anyone can stack up against your mom, right? These days, the only real competition for her… is you.”
The Harper family’s stares were downright murderous, but this wasn’t the place to cause a scene.
Tristan hosted the unveiling, cracking jokes and keeping the energy high to get the crowd pumped.
When the moment came to yank off the cloth, originally just Patsy and Brianna, Patsy sidled up with a smirk and murmured, “Brandon’s here now; you two unveiling together makes way more sense. I’ll bow out.”
“No way! It’s us or nothing.”

“Think about it. His clout alone could boost our funding big time. And that little homewrecker is revolting, why should the legit une here take a back seat?”
Brianna chewed it over and nodded. Patsy was spot on.
Patsy beamed. “Mr. Levy, sare to join Brianna for the unveiling?”
Brandon hadn’t been clued in on this and shot a look at Brianna, gauging her reaction.
“This is Brianna’s gig. Brandon’s status doesn’t fit,” Darcy piped up first, shutting it down.
Gabrielle cleared her throat meaningfully.
“Darcy, this is a matter between them two. What business is it of yours?” Patsy dripped with sarcasm.
“That’s not what I meant. I just figured that with Brandon as CEO of the Levy Group, doing the unveiling for a startup might make it look like Brianna is piggybacking off the Levy family’s fame.”
“Aren’t you getting ahead of yourself? Josefina and Gabrielle are standing right here, and Brianna is the rightful Mrs. Levy. Since when does an outsider like you get to fret over their affairs?” Patsy pulled no punches.
Darcy gave Brandon a wounded glance, like she’d been grievously wronged.
Brandon looked over at Brianna, saw she wasn’t protesting, and gave a faint smile. “Sure, why not.”
“Brandon!” Darcy wasn’t thrilled.
Brandon paid her no mind, joining Brianna up front. On the emcee’s signal, they yanked off the cloth–Horizon Group.
Once the ceremony concluded, the lobby turned into a showcase for the products. Tristan passed the microphone to Brianna.
Public speaking wasn’t her forte, so she kept things short and sweet: expressing thanks to her family for their backing, her friends for pitching in, and sharing the concepts inspiring the debut line. She wrapped up with a heartfelt bow.
Kendra gazed at Brianna–light makeup accenting her features, hair swept into an elegant updo, clad in a sleek green velvet suit paired with understated jewelry–and was utterly captivated.
She’d grown used to Brianna’s no–fuss, makeup–free look, but this was the first time she saw her truly shining.
Kendra clung to Brianna’s side, eyes sparkling with awe.
Deep into fall, the air had taken on a crisp chill.
Reporters from fashion mags and influencers wandered around, checking out the jewelry on display.
Out of nowhere, Darcy slipped off her long trench coat, unveiling a strapless evening gown.
A chill shot through Patsy, raising goosebumps all over.
Several influencers swarmed her, begging for selfies.
Darcy flashed a poised smile, striking poses by the jewelry and artfully highlighting the pieces while humoring their photo and video requests.
Nobody wanted to pass up the hype. The press and influencers mobbed her.
She glided gracefully from case to case, presenting the items like they were her own, all effortless and polished, as if the
