Too Late For Regrets, Mr. Billionaire (Brianna Meyers and Brandon Levy) novel Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Brianna’d just stepped into the office when her phone buzzed. It was Clair.

Brianna, you’re planning to show up for the awards ceremony, right?Clair asked teratively, concerned that the recent online drama might have put her off.

Brianna said, Yeah, definitely!

Clair’s tone perked up with a hint of delight. So, when are you heading over?

In a couple of days. I’ve got a few things holding me up right now.”

He sounded a little let down. Fair enough. Just give me a headsup once you nail down the timing, and I’ll come pick you up.

Sure thing, thanks, Clair.

Brianna ended the call, and the thought of her jewelry contest victory finally chased away some of the clouds hanging over her.

Work was the last thing on her mind. Her thoughts were a total jumble. The unexpected pregnancy, the divorce, and plotting how to bring down Blanca, it all blurred together, with no sense of what to tackle first. Her fingers tapped idly on the desk.

A knock echoed at the office door. Before she could say a word, Tristan barged in.

I’ve figured out a way to handle those two lowlifes. His voice crackled with excitement.

Then it hit him Whitney was her dad, and he shot her an awkward grin. Whoops, sorry!

Brianna didn’t even clock his slipup. The idea of a plan against them had her leaning in, elbows planted on the desk, all ears. What’ve you got?

Tristan leaned back with a sly grin, playing it cool. First things first, how are you gonna thank me?

Brianna got up, circled the desk, and stood right in front of him. You tell me, what’s it gonna take?

Tristan’s gaze deepened, half teasing, half in earnest. Get that divorce, then marry me.”

Brianna let out a laugh, fiddling with her hair to cover her flush. Cut the jokes! Come on, spill it, how do we pull this off?

She knew he was just messing around, but that kind of banter always made a girl blush.

Tristan didn’t take the bait, shifting gears instead. You said before you wanted a divorce. Are you for real about it?

Brianna stared, thrown off. She thought, What is his deal? Why dive into my divorce drama out of the blue?

Seeing he wasn’t letting it go, she sighed. Absolutely.

When’s it happening?A flicker of hope sparked in his eyes.

No clue, he hasn’t signed off on it yet.

He won’t go through with the divorce?

Chapter 36.

Yep Brianna shined uncomfortably, not keen to linger of anything involving Brandon.

Why not?Tristan deflated a bit.

Beats me, could be the business, or maybe the kid. She frowned.

So, what’s your next move?Tristan stood up and closed the gap, not letting up.

I’m not sure. There’s still a ton of loose ends to tie up.Her frown deepened as she massaged her temples without thinking

Tristan grabbed her hand, locking eyes with sincere intensity. How can I help?

Brianna met his gaze, caught off guard by the heat there, an emotion she couldn’t quite place.

She slipped her hand free and gave his a light pat. Don’t sweat it. I’ve got this.”

With that, she turned and settled back into her chair behind the desk.

Tristan’s eyes tracked her every move until she was seated. Then he shook it off, plopping down and sliding back into his laidback grin.

Brianna smiled back. Anyway, back to it, what’s this plan to take them down?

There’s a chunk of land in the new district hitting the auction block. Blanca’s all about expanding her empire. Maybe we can play our cards right there.” Tristan ditched the goofiness and got down to business.

Oh?Brianna’s interest piqued; she leaned forward on the desk, hanging on his every word.

1500 acres. It’s a thirdparty auction. Rumor has it, Blanca’s been poking around.

Although Brianna had never been involved in managing Unity Group, Trina had run the company, so she had some familiarity with the real estate business.

1500 acres of land could support anywhere from a hundred to a hundred and fifty communities. Unity Group might not even have the resources for something like that.

Still, if they secured it, Unity Group wouldn’t have to worry about business for the next decade.

Brianna sucked in a sharp breath.

If Blanca actually pulled it off, it would make Unity Group even stronger without a doubt. Seeing Trina’s company thrive in

r the hands of an enemy was the last thing she wanted.

Does Unity Group even have the capability for this right now?Brianna asked.

Her mind raced. Based on current property prices, winning that land at auction would cost at least 170 billion dollars Even with financing and loans, including the deposit, Unity Group would need to front at least 30 billion dollars.

She couldn’t help but sneer. Blanca’s ambition was nothing but a pipe dream.

Trina had built the company from nothing, grinding away for over twenty years and riding the golden wave of real estate growth, yet Unity Group remained just a midtier player.

With its reputation and assets as collateral, managing a cash flow of a few billion dollars was already unpressivT.

She can’t handle a deal that massive,Brianna muttered to herself.

Chapter 36-

long as she gets the notion, I can lay a trap for her.Tristan said with a cold laugh, a ruthless gleam flashing in his eyes.

Brianna narrowed her eyes, mulling over his words.

After a long pause, she asked, You plan to bankrupt Unity Group through bad loans?

No! I’ll jump into the bidding and string her along, making her desperate to win it. Even if she can’t take it all, she’ll fight for

a share.

And then?

This land isn’t zoned for residential use. It’s commercial.

Brianna gasped again. A multibilliondollar deal like this isn’t child’s play. Don’t jeopardize your business just for me.

Tristan shot her a cheeky grin. Are you worried about me?

Brianna laughed in spite of herself. Cut the crap! Be serious. You can’t let emotions drive this!

I’ve got it under control.

So what’s the plan?

I’ll use a third party to snag the bid, then leak rumors in the industry that it’s residential land. We’ll see if she’s gullible enough to fall for it.

Brianna pursed her lips. Any sane person would be tough to fool.
