Half an hour later, Tristan and the rescue team finally managed to strap Brianna onto a stretcher and carry her up.

Brandon and Patsy rushed over.

They saw that Brianna’s jacket was ripped to shreds. Her hair was completely disheveled, and her face and hands were covered in blood and grime.

Brandon’s hands trembled uncontrollably. He collapsed to his knees.

He swept Brianna into his arms.

Her whole body was ice-cold, not a hint of warmth left in her.

The doctor stepped forward.

Patsy pulled Brandon aside.

“Mr. Levy, let the doctor take a look,” she urged.

Brandon finally placed Brianna back onto the stretcher.

But he kept holding her hand, refusing to let go.

Brandon carefully rubbed Brianna’s hand, hoping to warm her up.

The doctor and the helicopter were already on standby.

The doctor stepped forward to check Brianna’s heartbeat and pulse.

The doctor’s tense expression eased a little.

“She still has a pulse,” the doctor said. “Hurry, get her to the hospital.”

The doctor called for a few people to help carry the stretcher.

Brandon tried to scoop Brianna up into his arms, and the doctor quickly stopped him.

“No, Mr. Levy,” the doctor said. “We don’t know if she’s got any broken bones yet. We need to avoid moving her right now.”

Brandon reluctantly released Brianna’s hand and helped lift one end of the stretcher.

The moment Tristan saw Brianna, it felt like his heart had stopped beating.

He only wanted to save her. Nothing else mattered.

Now that he had calmed down, Tristan shoved Brandon aside.

“Save your crocodile tears,” Tristan snapped.

Brandon’s face was filled with sorrow.

He acted like Tristan hadn’t said anything at all.

All he cared about was getting Brianna to the hospital as fast as possible.

Tristan was about to blow up, barely holding back his rage.

Patsy pulled Tristan back, stopping him.

“Saving Brianna comes first,” she said.

Brandon and the doctor climbed into the helicopter, while Tristan and Patsy jumped into a car.

They sped off, racing toward the hospital.

By the time Tristan and Patsy rushed to the hospital, Brianna had already been taken into the emergency

room.

Brandon was like a cat on hot bricks.

He kept his eyes glued to the glowing light above the operating room.

He was beside himself with worry, unable to calm down at all.

Patsy stepped forward.

“How is she?” she asked.

“I don’t know,” Brandon replied. “The best doctors specializing in internal medicine, surgery, and neurosurgery in Klamdiff are all inside with her.”

Tristan’s anxiety instantly morphed into fury the moment he saw Brandon.

He marched up and grabbed Brandon by the collar with both hands.

Tristan hissed through gritted teeth, “If anything happens to Brianna, I’ll make you pay with your life, no matter what it takes me.”

Brandon was so anxious, but he had nowhere to vent his frustration.

He shoved Tristan aside.

“Mr. Pratt, have you forgotten your place?” Brandon shot back.

With that, the two of them were on the verge of getting physical.

Patsy snapped, “Is this really the time for you two to be fighting?

“You’re both company presidents. Shouldn’t you be figuring out how to fix this instead? Why are acting like a couple of fighting cocks?

“Do you think fighting will magically make Brianna better? Will throwing punches help you find her?”

Both men hung their heads in shame after hearing that.

After Patsy finished scolding them, her heart skipped a beat.

‘Where did Darcy go?’ she wondered.

She’d told Brandon they’d found Brianna, but only he came.

By rights, Darcy was supposed to be with him.

Patsy rushed over to Brandon. She stared at him, anxiety written all over her face.

Patsy pressed, “When I called you, was Darcy with you?”

Brandon was utterly baffled. He couldn’t figure out why she’d ask that.

His mind was in chaos. He racked his brain, trying to remember.

He finally recalled. When he got the call, he and Darcy were up on the back mountain.

He couldn’t figure out why Patsy was asking.

Brandon nodded, still looking lost and confused.

“Yeah, we were together. What’s up?” he replied.

Patsy’s gaze turned serious.

Patsy watched Brandon carefully, her expression giving nothing away.

“It’s nothing, just that I haven’t seen her since then. Let’s hope nothing else happens.”

Brandon nodded.

Patsy stood up. Her heart jolted in fear.

‘Could Darcy really be behind all this?’ Patsy wondered.

She was instantly flooded with regret.

‘We never should’ve all left,’ she thought. ‘If Darcy really messed with things, now that everyone’s gone, that’ll just hand her the perfect chance to wipe out all the evidence.’

Right then, Caroline and the rest of the Levy family arrived.

The whole place erupted in wails and cries of grief.

After a lot of effort, the crowd finally settled down.

Suddenly, the doors to the operating room swung open.

It had been five whole hours since Brianna was taken into surgery.

Brandon rushed straight to the doctor.

“Doctor, how is my wife?” Brandon asked.

The doctor frowned. “The outlook isn’t good. She has multiple fractures all over her body. Luckily, the rib fractures are minor and didn’t damage any internal organs.”

The doctor glanced at Brandon and continued, “Right now, we’re clearing out the blood clots. She’s lost a lot of blood and needs a transfusion.

“Our blood supply is critically low. It’ll take some time to get more blood transferred here. Does anyone in the family have Rh-negative blood, also known as golden blood?”

Everyone was at a loss.

Mitch didn’t have Rh-negative blood either.

Everyone knew just how rare that blood type was.

Brandon was like a cat on hot bricks.

Even with all his money and power, rare blood types weren’t something one could just buy.

A clear, confident female voice rang out. “I’m Rh-negative. I’ll donate blood.”

Everyone turned toward the voice.

They saw Darcy and her parents walking over together.

“My blood is a match,” Darcy said. “Use my blood to save Brianna.”

Darcy strode up to Brandon, her face set with unwavering resolve.

Brandon looked at Darcy, gratitude shining in his eyes.

“Thank you, Darcy,” Brandon said.

The Harper family looked on.

Even though they had countless complaints about Darcy, they could only keep their feelings to themselves for now.

When Brianna’s life was on the line, there was no room for jokes.

“Don’t worry, Brandon. Brianna’s going to be okay,” Darcy comforted Brandon.

She looked every bit the picture of beauty and kindness.

Just as Darcy was about to follow the doctor into the operating room, Patsy suddenly called out, stopping Darcy in her tracks, “Wait!”

Everyone turned to Patsy, puzzled.

“I think Mr. Meyers should donate blood instead,” Patsy said.

“Patsy, I’m young and healthy,” Darcy said. “My blood will be more suitable.”

Darcy’s eyes flashed like lightning as she glanced at Patsy. Yet, she kept a gentle smile on her face.

“There’s no such thing as ‘better quality’ blood for donations,” Patsy replied. “Mr. Meyers is Brianna’s dad. He’s the most suitable donor for Brianna.”

Tristan couldn’t figure out what Patsy was really thinking.

He pulled her aside and muttered quietly, “This is a matter of life and death. Don’t start a fight with her right

now.”

He just figured Patsy didn’t like Darcy.

Patsy gave him a look full of annoyance.
