Chapter 65 Marrying Tristan Would’ve Been Better

Chapter 65 Marrying Tristan Would’ve Been Better

Brandon had to save face as a husband.

He also had to stand up for Darcy.

Here was Kendra, acting like the enemy was her own father.

Staying at home just meant Brianna was constantly pissed off.

Just seeing Brandon and Kendra together made Brianna’s blood boil.

She just grabbed a few things.

Then she told the driver to take her back to the Harper family.

When Tristan found out, he didn’t waste a second.

He showed up at the Harper family in no time.

He’d been worried sick about Brianna and didn’t want to see Brandon either.

Ever since Brianna came back home, he’d barely visited.

When Tristan arrived at the Harper family, he immediately noticed that Brianna seemed much more energetic.

Seeing Brianna in such good spirits, he finally felte

weight lift off his chest.

Brianna watched him, still as impulsive as he was in their youth, and couldn’t help but smile.

She found herself smiling without even realizing it.

“It’s New Year’s. Shouldn’t you be spending time with your parents at home?” Brianna teased. “So, what brings you all the way over here?”

Tristan smirked at her with that trademark roguish grin.

“Come on, you know your boy’s just worried about you,” he said, acting all casual.

Brianna suddenly remembered it was Tristan who had saved her from the cliff.

She realized she still hadn’t thanked him for that.

She looked at him and said, genuinely.

“I never got around to thanking you for what you did back then. Really, thank you,” Brianna said.

For once, the usually playful Tristan actually blushed.

“Hey, it was nothing,” he said, trying to brush it off.

He waved his hand, acting like it was no big deal.

“Well, can you blame me? With your husband being so unreliable, it’s always up to yours truly to worry about you,” Tristan joked, flashing a grin.

Brianna couldn’t help but laugh.

Tristan grabbed an apple, peeled it, and handed it to Brianna.

Tristan said with a playful smile, “Here, have an apple. It’s supposed to bring you peace and good luck.”

Brianna took the apple from him, her smile lingering.

“Wow, I never pegged you for the superstitious type,” she joked.

She took a bite, and the fresh sweetness spread across her tongue, making her feel lighter and happier.

‘Brianna found that whenever she kept her distance from the Levy family, she always felt so much better’ she thought to herself.

Tristan saw Brianna’s radiant smile, and for once, his playful grin faded as he grew a little more serious.

“Gotcha,” Tristan said.

Brianna was momentarily spaced out. “What?”

“By the way, Unity Group’s got their eye on that property,” Tristan said.

So this was what Tristan had mentioned before, the trap he set for Blanca.

“But if Unity Group really takes the bait, they’re pretty much doomed. They’ll have no choice but to go bankrupt,” Tristan

said, a hint of mischief in his voice-

Brianna stayed silent

Her eyes flickered with uncertainty.

After all, Unity Group was my mom’s lifelong legacy.

‘Am I really going to let everything my mom worked for just be destroyed like this Brianna thought, her heart sinking. She sat in silence for a while, lost in thought, before finally closing her eyes and opening them again.

Her gaze was deep and unfathomable, like staring into an endless abyss.

“Honestly, I’d rather see the company go under than let that homewrecker run it,” Brianna said, her voice cold and resolute. Tristan shot Brianna a worried look.

He spoke gently, trying to reassure her. “If you really can’t bear to let it go. Think of it as your boy’s gift for your fresh start.” Brianna looked at Tristan, her eyes shining with gratitude. “Thank you!”

Tristan waved it off with a casual swagger.

“Oh, and about that whole funding thing for your company,” Tristan said. “I’ve got a dinner lined up for you. Once you’re back on your feet, we’ll make it happen.”

‘Brianna felt a gentle warmth rise in her heart,’ she thought.

With a playful grin, Brianna teased, “Alright, tell me, how do you want me to thank you?”

Tristan’s brows arched, his eyes full of warmth and amusement.

“Didn’t we agree I’d be the one keeping tabs on your marriage?” Tristan joked.

They used to joke about Tristan being the one to keep tabs on Brianna’s marriage.

If Blanca took the bait with that plot in the new district, Brianna would go ahead and divorce Brandon.

Brianna thought back to those moments and was mused.

“So divorcing Brandon is my way of thanking you?” she joked.

Tristan rubbed his nose, mumbling under his breath.

“Or you could just offer yourself to me,” he said.

“What was that? Say it again?” Brianna teased, raising an eyebrow at Tristan.

“Nothing,” Tristan muttered, looking away.

After Tristan left, Caroline sat down next to Brianna.

“Did you two have another fight?” Caroline asked.

Caroline was asking about what was going on between Brianna and Brandon.

“No,” Brianna said softly, giving her grandmother a reassuring smile as she took her hand.

“What brings you back home during the New Year?” Caroline asked, her expression full of concern.

Caroline looked worried.

“Every day it’s just doctors and therapists,” Brianna complained. “I’m so sick of it.”

“I just wanted to come home and spend some time with you,” Brianna said, her tone soft and a little playful.

She really didn’t want to make her grandina worry.

Caroline sighed, clearly feeling helpless.

There was nothing but resignation in her tone.

“After what happened to you, I saw Brandon really go above and beyond for you,” Caroline said softly. “He truly put his heart into it. If you two can get along, I’ll finally be able to rest easy.”

Caroline used to be all for Brianna getting a divorce.

She just couldn’t stand seeing Brianna so miserable.

Brandon was truly impeccable this time. He did everything right.

Caroline felt she could finally leave Brianna in Brandon’s care.

If things were good, no grandparent would ever want to see their grandchild get divorced.

Seriously, no grandparents wanted to see their grandchild go through a divorce.

Brianna just couldn’t lie to her grandma.

She just couldn’t bring herself to tell her grandma that Brandon had cheated on her with Darcy.

Brianna just gave her grandma a quiet, wordless smile, unable to say anything.

Caroline let out a helpless sigh

“Maybe things would’ve turned out better if you’d married Tristan Pratt back then, Caroline sighed. “Maybe you wouldn’t have had to deal with all this drama.”

Tristan was always so good to Brianna.

Caroline had always noticed how well Tristan treated her granddaughter.

Tristan might not be as accomplished as Brandon, but he got plenty going for him.

His family background, looks, and character are all top-notch.

And he had always been genuinely sincere with Brianna.

Brianna couldn’t help but laugh.

“Grandma, what are you talking about?” Brianna pouted. “Come on, Grandma, Tristan and I are just friends.”

Caroline gave her a sly, suggestive smile.

“I’ve lived a long life, dear. Nothing escapes these old eyes,” Caroline said with a knowing smile.

Brianna just figured her grandma was joking and didn’t really care.

She didn’t pay it any mind.

Time slipped by in a blur.

Brianna had been back at the Harper family for m

more than ten days now.

She left all the mess behind.

She didn’t have to deal with any of those annoying people.

Brianna was feeling so much better.

After the New Year,

though she still wasn’t fully recovered, Brianna went back to work anyway.

She chose to get back to work, despite not being fully recovered.

The first thing Brianna did when she returned to work was dive straight into her new “Thorn” collection. She poured all her energy into working on her latest “Thorn” series, determined to make it a success.

A week later, Brianna finally saw the first samples of her “Thorn” collection.

She threw herself into the publicity and launch work for her new collection, barely taking a break.

Thankfully, the early promo for the Thorn collection went really well.

Everyone online was raving about it.

The success at work had Brianna feeling on top of the world.

They’d originally planned to have a big company dinner before the New Year, but since the holiday had just ended, it made sense to gather everyone for a post-holiday meal instead.

With the New Year just behind them, it was the perfect chance to bring the whole team together.

They planned a team outing for the weekend.

They picked a suburban forest park for the event.

Everyone could go camping, paddle around in canoes, or get in on some paintball action.

With so many young people on the team, the wide-open space was perfect for everyone to cut loose and enjoy themselves. When Tristan heard about it, he invited himself along without a hint of embarrassment.

The whole crew headed out to the suburbs.

Most of the team decided to play paintball.

Brianna still wasn’t fully recovered, so she had to sit out the paintball game.

Not wanting to kill the vibe, Patsy went off to join the others for the game.

Tristan was the only one who stayed behind to keep Brianna company. They sat together inside the camping tent.

They breathed in the crisp, mountain air, letting it fill their lungs.

ristan grabbed a blanket.

He thoughtfully draped it over Brianna’s legs, making sure she was comfortable.

The sunlight soaked into the skin, leaving them feeling cozy and relaxed.

Brianna slowly drifted off to sleep.

Maybe it was the healing power of nature, but Brianna felt herself slowly being soothed, body and soul.

As Brianna drifted into sleep, she found herself dreaming.

She soared high and free across the brilliant blue sky

The fluffy clouds turned into cotton candy.

Whenever she got tired from flying, she’d just take a bite.

It was so sweet that she couldn’t help but smile.

Brianna smiled softly in her sleep, a gentle laugh escaping as she dreamed.

Tristan glanced over, thinking Brianna was waking up when he heard her laugh.

When he turned to look, he saw her face completely relaxed, her brows smooth, looking utterly at ease.

Her smile was as sweet as a baby’s-pure, carefree, and full of gentle happiness.

Tristan found himself just staring at her, completely lost in the moment.

Almost without thinking, Tristan found himself leaning in closer.

He left a soft, tender kiss right at the corner of her lips.

Tristan closed his eyes, letting the moment wash over him.

He could feel the gentle warmth of her skin against his lips, a sensation that made his heart skip a beat.

The faint, powdery scent of her skin lingered at the tip of his nose, teasing his senses.
