Chapter 71 Goma on a Business
Chapter 71 Going on a Business Trip
Early the following morning, Brianna came downstairs, ready to head out. Brandon was getting ready to send Kendra to school.
Kendra walked over and took her mom’s hand. “Mom, will you send me to school please?” Kendra asked.
“No, sweetie. I’ve got things to do. Let your dad send you,” Brianna turned her down firmly.
She and Clair had arranged to fly together from Klamdiff to Romara. ‘It’s a long flight, more than ten hours. Having someone to travel with made the journey a lot less lonely, she thought.
She needed to hurry home and pack her luggage before picking up Clair from the airport. Kendra pouted again when she was turned down. “Mom, you haven’t taken me to school at all this semester,” she complained.
Brianna gave her an apologetic smile and said, “I’m sorry, sweetie. I really have to take care of something today. How about I send you next time?”
Kendra huffed and got into the car, sulking. She ignored her mom completely. Brandon was just about to say something when the screech of brakes cut through the air. A car came tearing into the driveway, clearly in a hurry.
Brandon and Brianna both turned to look. As soon as the car stopped, the door flew open. The person inside stormed out of the car, visibly furious.
Slamming the car door shut behind her, Margo rushed over to Brandon in a few quick strides and grabbed him by his collar. Sparks seemed to fly in her eyes; she was livid.
Margo spat out the words through clenched teeth. “Where’s Benedict?” she demanded.
Brandon stood there with his hands in his pockets. Margo glared at Brandon, her eyes filled with nothing but contempt.
“Have you forgotten the consequences of betraying the Levy family?” Brandon replied.
Margo was about to lose it. She yanked hard on his collar and shouted at him, “Give him back to me!”
Brandon’s expression was icy. He forcefully pried Margo’s hands off him, his presence intimidating. “Don’t you have any backbone as a Levy?” Brandon said coldly.
Margo’s eyes were bloodshot with rage. She wanted to lung at him again. James and Judy hurried over when they heard the commotion. They quickly stepped in between the siblings, trying to keep them apart.
“Ms. Levy, please calm down!” Judy held Margo back.
Margo glared at Brandon with a ferocious expression and warned word by word, “You’d better send Benedict back to me. Otherwise, you’ll pay for it.”
With that, Margo stormed off in a rage. Slamming her foot on the gas, she sped out, only to crash straight into the gate with a loud bang.
Just as James was about to check what had happened, Margo slammed on the gas and sped away, leaving a trail of dust behind.
Brianna, by the side, was watching the sibling drama play out. She was puzzled, wondering, ‘What did Benedict do this time to piss Brandon off?’
Brianna’s curiosity got the better of her. “What happened?” Brianna asked.
Brandon’s expression remained cold and indifferent. He answered, his tone flat and emotionless, “Her husband pulled another stunt betraying the Levy family.”
Brandon kept it brief, as usual. He made it seem as if the conversation was already over. Brianna didn’t ask further and watched as Brandon and Kendra left.
James drove Brianna home. On the way, Brianna tried to gather some information from him. However, he had no idea about the siblings’ feud either.
All he said was that Brandon had gone to Lorenvale a few days ago and brought Justin back. He didn’t have a clue about anything else.
Brianna did some quick mental math. Brandon was in Lorenvale when her company was raising capital. ‘No wonder he said he was on a business trip, Brianna thought.
After Benedict was fired, he held a grudge and t Successfully unlocked! imed he was there to support his son’s education, but in truth, he was using his son to threaten the Levy lamity.
In taking revenge against the Levy family, Benedict saw his son as nothing more than a bargaining chip. ‘Why did he let

Brandon bring his son back?
crum what Margo had said, Benedict’s gone missing. Does Brandon have anything to do with it? Brianna wondered. All these strange signs inevitably piqued her curiosity.
What had Benedict done to have made Brandon so mad? Brianna’s mind was spinning with questions.
There was no time to think James drove her home, where her larger luggage had already been packed. After quickly gathering her carry-on items, she rushed to the airport.
When she picked up Clair, he was beaming with delight and jogged over to Brianna’s side. It was early April; the warm spring breeze and bright sunshine made everything feel so fresh.
Clair wore a dark gray shirt and brought his suitcase along. He had a black jacket casually slung over one arm. There was a neat, refreshing vibe about him, his smile warm and radiant.
“Long time no see, Brianna, Clair greeted her, his excitement obvious. He pulled Brianna into a quick, gentle hug.
As Brianna recalled, Clair picked her up when she first got to grad school. If she remembered correctly, he was wearing a dark gray T-shirt that day. Those memories came rushing back, and a smile tugged at Brianna’s lips.
“Long time no see, Clair,” Brianna greeted him with a smile.
Clair let go of Brianna and couldn’t help but frown. He asked with worry in his eyes, “Brianna, you lost so much weight! Are you alright?”
Brianna smiled wryly. “I had a skiing accident last winter,” Brianna explained. “I’m still on medication. Looks like I’ll need you to take care of me this time, Clair.”
Brianna joked, flashing him a playful smile. For a split second, Clair’s heart ached for her, but he quickly hid it with a smile. No problem,” Clair replied. “If I can’t even handle something this simple, I’d be too embarrassed to face our advisor.”
Just as they were laughing and joking around out of nowhere, a voice came from behind. “Brianna.”
Brianna turned around; it was Brandon. Her smile vanished in an instant. ‘Of all places, why do I have to run into him at the airport?’ Brianna thought to herself, annoyed.
Brandon walked over slowly and stood next to Brianna. He reached out to shake Clair’s hand. “Hello, Mr. Salazar,” Brandon greeted him.
Clair didn’t like the intimidating vibe Brandon gave off. He just gave a faint smile. “Hello, Mr. Levy,” Clair responded. Brandon smiled politely and said, “Brianna hasn’t been feeling well lately. I’ll be counting on you to take care of her in Valeentia.”
Clair couldn’t help but feel a bit annoyed. “Don’t worry,” Clair replied. “Looking after Brianna is what I’m here for.” Brandon casually wrapped his arm around Brianna’s shoulders, acting all sweet and caring. “Enjoy yourself for a while. If you don’t feel well, I’ll come pick you up myself,” he said.
Watching him play the doting husband, Brianna was totally put off. ‘What’s his deal now?’ she thought, annoyed. With Clair right there, she couldn’t expose him. She suppressed the urge to push his arm away and put on a forced, awkward smile. “Mm,” she responded.
As the flight was still a while away, Brandon found a café and took them in. Brianna kept looking for a chance to send Brandon away, but it just never happened.
The three of them sat down. Brandon thoughtfully ordered a milk tea for Brianna. “Better stay away from coffee for a while,” Brandon said, his voice soft and full of concern. “That’s not good for you.”
Brianna turned her head away, avoiding Clair’s gaze. She looked at Brandon like he was out of his mind. Her expression practically shouted, ‘Seriously, what are you doing?”
Brandon just ignored her reaction. He kept fussing over every little thing. “Call me as soon as you land, and text me every day so I know where you are,” he said.
Brianna rolled her eyes so hard she felt tired. She didn’t bother responding. Clair chuckled softly and said, a teasing edge in his voice. “Mr. Levy, you’re really overprotective of your wife.”
