Kendra’s birthday party was held at the villa:

The family of three arrived at the villa.

After glancing at the decorations, Kendra was already a bit displeased.

‘Kendra felt a twinge of annoyance after seeing the decorations, she thought to herself.

In past years, Gabrielle always went all out for Kendra’s birthday parties.

She’d switch up the theme every time, making sure it was something special.

There were parties inspired by Snow White, Frozen’s Elsa, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid–you name it.

Every year, Kendra got a fresh surprise.

But this year? Compared to before, it felt like nobody even tried.

The whole place was just decorated with a few balloons and some streamers.

It was obvious nobody had put any real effort into it.

“Mommy,” Kendra pouted, her voice all sweet and whiny, “I want a princess theme.”

Brianna just brushed it off.

“Kendra, your grandma put a lot of thought and effort into your birthday party. That’s not how you should behave,” Brianna said.

It was time to teach her daughter to be grateful.

Kendra pouted stubbornly. “I don’t like it at all.”

Brianna crouched down and spoke softly. “Kendra, we should appreciate what others do for us. If you say things like that, you’ll hurt Grandma’s feelings.”

“But…” Kendra was so wrapped up in her own emotions that she wasn’t listening at all.

“Honey, think about it. If you put your heart into making a surprise for someone, and they said they didn’t like it, wouldn’t you feel sad?” Brianna coaxed.

That seemed to get through to Kendra a little. She kept pouting, but didn’t say anything back.

“If you want something special next time, you should let Grandma know what you like ahead of time. Otherwise, how would she know what you want?” Brianna said gently.

Brandon, standing nearby, couldn’t help but let his lips twitch.

‘Next time? So she’s just going to hand off everything about the kid to Josefina from here on out?‘ Brandon thought.

Kendra was still a bit defiant, though most of her impatience had faded away.

“But you already know what I like,” she pouted.

“Mommy, I still like the parties you plan best. Can your do it again next time?” Kendra whined.

Brianna smiled. “Maybe your dad can plan it next time.”

Brandon glanced over, his lips twitching in disbelief.

Just then, Gabrielle walked in, helping Josefina into the room.

When Josefina saw the three of them standing together, she couldn’t stop smiling.

She was absolutely delighted.

“Grandma, Mom,” Brandon and Kendra greeted them. “You’re here?”

Josefina handed over a fancy box. “Come here, my little birthday girl. This is your gift.”

Brianna shot Kendra a look.

Kendra immediately put on her sweetest smile. “Thank you, Josefina. Grandma, thank you for working so hard to plan my party.”

Her words had both Josefina and Gabrielle beaming with joy.

Brianna smiled, feeling proud and relieved. ‘See? That’s why you have to teach them, she thought to herself.

Relatives kept trickling in, one after another.

Kendra acted all sweet and well–behaved. Even if she wasn’t all that excited about the gifts, she still accepted them graciously and made sure to thank everyone.

By the afternoon, guests started arriving one after another.

As soon as the Harper couple walked in, Josefina couldn’t wait

to call them over.

She started bombarding them with questions about how Caroline was doing

When she heard that Caroline wasn’t feeling well, Josefina couldn’t help but feel a bit sad.

Just as everyone was offering comfort, a group of people strode in, making no effort to be discreet.

Brianna glanced up, a cold smirk on her lips. ‘See? I knew they wouldn’t let this slip by, she thought to herself.

It was the Meyers family.

This time, it wasn’t just the usual three. Jane and Reese had come along too.

Brianna scanned the area, taking in everything around her.

Brandon was busy mingling with the guests, completely unaware of what was happening on this side.

A that moment, the Meyers family and a few others were relaxing in the pavilion, enjoying the cool shade.

They were well away from the crowd of business folks.

The Meyers family came over with polite greetings, making sure to say hello to everyone.

Whitney stepped forward and introduced his mom and sister to Josefina and Gabrielle.

Thinking herself quite respectable, she extended her hand to Gabrielle with a hint of arrogance. “Gabrielle, after all these years, we finally meet. I must admit, it’s been my oversight.”

She assumed that by acting a bit humble, Gabrielle would welcome her with a warm smile.

But Gabrielle wasn’t buying it.

She didn’t even bother to stand up or shake Reese’s hand.

An awkward silence filled d the air. Reese was left standing there, looking pretty pissed.

“Gabrielle, you might not know, but I’m Brianna’s aunt,” Reese said.

Gabrielle didn’t bother to hide her contempt.

“Yeah, Reese. I remember you. You caused chaos in the Pratt family back then,” Gabrielle said.

Reese was stung by Gabrielle’s words and looked ready to explode, but Blanca quickly held her back.

Blanca took Darcy and found a spot in the middle, settling down together.

Smiling brightly at Josefina and Gabrielle,

Her gaze was sharp as a blade, lingering on Darcy and Brianna.

Blanca shot a smug look and pulled Darcy close, holding her hand tightly.

“Darcy’s the one who’s pregnant!” Blanca declared.

Josefina and Gabrielle’s faces darkened, looking as grim as storm clouds.

They fixed a warning glare on Blanca and Darcy, making it clear they weren’t about to let this slide.

Darcy acted all coy and bashful, putting on her best innocent face.

“It’s Brandon’s baby,” she announced.

Blanca was practically bursting with excitement.

Josefina’s mouth hung open as she struggled for air, her face turning a dark, almost purple shade.

Blanca and Darcy immediately got to their feet.

They rushed forward, ready to help Josefina.
