The next morning, everyone gathered at the breakfast table. After last night, things were a little awkward between, Brandon and Brianna.

They shared a knowing smile, like old friends.

Brandon asked James to take Kendra out.

Brianna quickly offered to go with Kendra and followed James out.

She really didn’t want to be alone with Brandon right now.

Just as she was about to leave, Brandon called out, Your car’s been here for a while. Are you going to pick it up

afternoon?

Let’s talk about it this afternoon,” Brianna replied, clearly brushing him off.

After what happened last night, she just wanted to keep her distance from him for now.

Brianna practically fled the house.

When James dropped Brianna off at the office, she was just about to get out when he suddenly spoke up.

Ma’am,James said, his brow furrowed, clearly struggling with whether to speak or not.

I’ve watched Brandon grow up, and I know his temperament. You mean a lot to him,he said quietly.

Brianna forced a smile.

She nodded.

Got it,” she replied.

With that, she got out of the car and walked away.

As soon as she stepped into the elevator, she couldn’t help but shiver.

Damn it!Brianna muttered to herself. Are Brandon and I cursed wing?

Brianna shook her head, trying to clear her mind

crazymething?

thoughts.

By the time she got to her office, she’d already left all that relationship drama behind.

After checking her emails, she got down to business, diving into the design drafts.

The contract with Tevanni was already signed.

Horizon Group’s highend custom line was still in the planning stages.

Honestly, things had been pretty busy lately.

Patsy had something to take care of and didn’t come in today.

At noon, a colleague came by and asked if she wanted to grab lunch together.

Brianna declined. You guys go ahead. I’ll join you once I finish up here.

Chapter 91

After her colleague closed the door, she buried herself in work.

After quite some time, once she’d finished tweaking the design drafts, Brianna finally looked up.

She rolled her stiff neck and glanced at the clock. It was almost 1 PM.

Her stomach growled.

Brianna stood up, stretched, grabbed her phone, and went downstairs for lunch.

Just as Brianna reached the lobby, she spotted a young girl in a white dress, with long hair down to her waist.

The girl was standing outside the building, glancing nervously inside.

Brianna didn’t pay much attention, just gave her a quick look and headed outside without stopping.

But when the girl saw Brianna, she nervously approached her.

Excuse me, are you Brianna?the girl asked softly.

Brianna sized up the girl, who looked early twenties, had that bashful vibe you see in young people, and looked sweet and

innocent.

Brianna racked her brain, but she couldn’t recall ever meeting this girl.

I’m Brianna. And you are?she asked.

Hi, I’m Tristan’s girlfriend,the girl said shyly.

Tristan’s girlfriend?Brianna was taken aback. ‘Wow, he’s dating someone and didn’t even mention it to me.

Brianna smiled warmly. Nice to meet you. What’s your name?

The girl looked a bit embarrassed, blinking her big eyes.

My name is Nancy Rich, she replied.

Brianna gave Nancy a subtle onceover, feeling quietly pleased with what she saw.

Nancy looked elegant and innocent, tall, with fair skin, and was tastefully dressed.

She was clearly the classic good girl from a welloff family.

Honestly, she seemed just right for Tristan.

Have you eaten yet?Brianna asked.

At that moment, Brianna was totally focused on checking Nancy out, seeing if she and Tristan would make a good pair.

She didn’t question Nancy coming to find her alone at all.

Not yet,Nancy replied, shaking her head.

Me neither. There’s a good spot up ahead. Want to go together?Brianna offered.

Nancy said yes right away.

This place was owned by Pratt Group.

Brianna figured Tristan must be nearby, and assumed Nancy had come with him.

Once they sat down at the restaurant, Brianna handed the menu to Nancy.

Where’s Tristan? When’s he coming?Brianna asked.

When Brianna asked, Nancy’s hand stopped halfway to the menu, frozen in midair.

She hesitated for a moment, then drew her hand back.

I came alone. I wanted to talk to you, Nancy said quietly.

Brianna suddenly realized things weren’t as straightforward as she’d assumed.

She kept her smile and slid the menu over to Nancy.

Let’s order first, take your time,” Brianna said.

Nancy didn’t even glance at the menu.

Her eyes flickered, avoiding Brianna’s gaze.

Brianna, I came here because I want to talk to you about Tristan,Nancy said.

Brianna calmly poured her a glass of water.

She called over the waiter and placed their order.

Then, with a relaxed smile, Brianna asked, What is it?

Nancy looked down, her eyes uncertain, but her voice was steady.

I hope you’ll stay away from Tristan, she said.

Brianna held her glass of water, taking a slow sip.

Looks like this girl’s got the wrong idea, Brianna thought.

Nancy, you’ve got it all wrong. Tristan and I are just friends,Brianna said gently.

She looked at Nancy and genuinely liked her.

56 VOUGH!

Afraid Nancy wouldn’t believe her, Brianna added Patsy, and I grew up together. We’re just childhood friends.”

Nancy still didn’t look up.

She bit her lip and continued softly.

Maybe I shouldn’t have come here, but I really do like TristanNancy said.

Brianna smiled warmly.

She treated Nancy like a little sister, showing nothing but understanding.

Don’t worry about it. Since you’re Tristan’s girlfriend, it was only a matter of time before we met,Brianna said gently.

Nancy’s face twisted with indecision, like she’d finally made up her mind, and then she looked up.

She met Brianna’s eyes with a defiant look.

Chapter 91

Brianna, if your boyfriend had a girl he just couldn’t forget, you wouldn’t want her constantly showing up and hanging around him, would you?Nancy said.

Brianna frowned, feeling a little put off by the question.

But for Tristan’s sake, she kept her cool.

Yeah, sure,Brianna replied, just playing along with Nancy.

So, Brianna, I really don’t want you to keep sticking around Tristan,Nancy said.
