Chapter 94
When Brianna got home, Kendra was already asleep.
Brianna went upstairs, knocked softly on her daughter’s door, peeked in, and saw Kendra fast asleep.
She quietly closed the door and headed to the guest room.
After washing up, she came out to find Brandon lounging on the sofa, one leg casually crossed over the other.
Brianna couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What is he up to now?”
Ignoring him, she went straight to the bed and sat down.
After a brief silence, Brandon stood up and strode over to her.
He grabbed her wrist, making her look him in the eye.
He gave off a dangerous vibe.
The oppressive tension in the air was suffocating.

“So, I’ve been too soft on you, huh? You actually dared to play these little games behind my back,” Brandon said.
Brianna figured he was just worried about Darcy.
She crossed her arms over her chest.
With a stern look, she said, “What’s wrong? Feeling sorry for her now?”
Brandon’s eyes were icy, a sneer curling at the corner of his mouth.
“I told you I’d take care of it. So why are you still messing around with Tristan, pulling these tricks behind my back?” he demanded.
‘Games? Brianna thought with a sneer.
“And how exactly are you planning to handle it? By making them move out?” she shot back.
Brandon struggled to keep his anger in check.
“This is a family matter. Tristan’s not really one of us. He’s an outsider,” Brandon said.
“To me, Tristan is the one I actually consider family,” Brianna shot back. They’re not!‘
She kept that last part to herself.
Brandon’s gaze was so dark, it seemed bottomless.
His lips were pressed into a thin, hard line.
“Is that so?” Brandon’s voice was cool and devoid of emotion.
Brianna could tell he was genuinely angry.
Does Darcy really matter that much to him?‘ she wondered. “Then why did he want Darcy to have an abortion?
Or was it all just a calculated move, pretending to be hurt? Was his real goal to keep Darcy safe?‘

Chapter 94
“There’s no point in talking about this,” Brianna said, meeting his gaze with defiant determination.
“No one can stop me from dealing with them. Everything they owe my mother, everything they owe me. I’ll make sure they pay for it.” she declared.
With that, Brianna turned and walked out of the room.
Still wearing her pajamas. Brianna stormed downstairs, jumped in her car, and sped off.
By the time she finally made it back to her villa on the south side, it was already past midnight.
Her mind was racing, emotions surging. Sleep was the last thing on her mind.
She flopped onto the bed, completely drained.
‘Honestly, I’m just pathetic, Brianna thought. ‘I actually worried he’d do something crazy that day.
‘Guess I really thought I mattered more to him than I ever did.
As she lay there, she couldn’t help but worry.
Brianna thought, ‘What if he really steps in
o help the Meyers family? Will everything I’ve worked for just fall apart?
‘If the Meyers family doesn’t crumble and Darcy actually has the baby, everyone will just see me as a joke!
Brianna let out a deep, exhausted sigh, feeling utterly defeated.
She barely caught a few winks before the sun came up.
The alarm jolted her awake. Sleep was out of the question now.
Feeling completely drained, Brianna got out of bed, freshened up, and made her way to the office.
At her desk, her mind was still a mess. She just couldn’t stop worrying.
‘No way, I have to let Tristan know about this,‘ Brianna thought.
She snatched up her phone and quickly dialed Tristan’s number.
“Hey, Tristan, where are you right now? I need to talk to you. It’s urgent,” Brianna said.
“I’m still at home. What’s going on?” Tristan said.
“Brandon knows about the land in the new district,” Brianna replied.
“Oh,” Tristan said, sounding totally unfazed. “And?”
“I’m worried he’ll try to interfere,” Brianna admitted, anxiety clear in her tone.
“Don’t be scared,” Tristan reassured her. “I’ll come find you right now.”
Out of the corner of her eye, Brianna spotted the diary on her desk and suddenly wondered if she’d been a little too eager, maybe jumping the gun by calling him so early.
“It’s okay, I’ll come find you when you have some free time,” she said.
Then it hit Brianna. Was I crossing a line here? What if Tristan’s girlfriend started thinking there was something going on
between us?

“Hey, since when are you so polite?” Tristan joked with a grin.
“Wouldn’t want your girlfriend to get the wrong idea,” Brianna said with a casual smile.
“Girlfriend? What girlfriend? I don’t have a girlfriend!” Tristan’s voice suddenly went up a notch.
Brianna assumed he was just trying to hide it.
“Trying to keep your girl a secret, huh? Too bad, I already know. Her name’s Nancy, right?” Brianna teased.
Tristan was instantly rattled when he heard the name.
“How do you know that? Who told you?” he shot back, clearly flustered.
“I’ve met the girl,” Brianna said.
She shrugged it off, not wanting to get into details.
Tristan was all worked up.
“What did she say to you?” he pressed.

Brianna couldn’t help but find it weird. ‘Why is he acting like his relationship is some big secret? Does he really think I’m some kind of threat to his girlfriend?‘ she thought.
“Nothing much, just that you two are dating,” Brianna replied, keeping it casual.
Of course, she wasn’t about to tell him that Nancy had actually come to warn her off.
“I’m not dating her! She’s just making stuff up! Tristan protested.
Tristan rushed to clear things up.
“Wait, what?” Brianna wasn’t sure what was going on.
“Never mind, it’s too complicated to explain over the phone. I’ll come find you!” With that, Tristan quickly hung up.
Brianna stared at her phone, left scratching her head in confusion.
Just then, the office door swung open and Patsy walked in.
She handed Brianna a cup of coffee.
“Did you have breakfast yet?” Patsy asked.
“Not yet,” Brianna replied, taking the coffee. “Tristan’s coming over soon.”
“What’s he coming for?” Patsy asked.
“It’s about the land in the new district,” Brianna said with a grin. “And it seems like he’s got a little romance going on.”
“Hmm?” Patsy’s eyes widened, looking confused as she stared at Brianna. “How do you know?”
“His girlfriend came to see me. I asked him about it just now, but he wouldn’t admit it,”
anna replied, smiling.
Brianna smiled.
All these years growing up together, she’d never heard him talk about liking anyone. She was starting to wonder if he wasn’t even interested in girls at all.

But now that she knew he actually had a girlfriend, she was genuinely happy for him.
“His girlfriend?” Patsy’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Yeah, her name’s Nancy. She’s in her early twenties–really innocent and pretty,” Brianna replied.
She genuinely liked Nancy,
She felt an instant connection with her.
Nancy’s innocence was effortless, completely natural.
