Back in her office, Brianna turned her back and scrubbed at the orange stain on her white shirt.
No matter how hard she tried, the stain just wouldn’t come off.
She let out a frustrated sigh, tears slipping down her cheeks.
Brandon watched her defiant silhouette, feeling a pang in his chest.
He strode over.
He drew her gently into his arms.
“It’s okay,” Brandon murmured, gently rubbing her back.
“Just let it out,” he said.
Brianna pressed her face against his solid chest.
She began to sob softly.
But after just two minutes, she composed herself and pulled away from his embrace.
She’d been insulted out of nowhere.
She even got water splashed in her face with everyone watching.
Did she feel wronged?
Of course she did.
But compared to all the trouble she was facing, this was nothing.
Brianna grabbed a tissue from the desk and quickly wiped away her tears.
“What are you doing here?” she asked.
“Mom wants us to head back for a bit. I came to look for you. Saw you heading that way, but got caught up on a call, so I was delayed,” Brandon said.
‘So that’s it,’ Brianna thought, realizing why Brandon had suddenly appeared.
“She already called me,” Brianna said.
“Do we have to go now?” she asked.
“We’ll go after you’re done,” Brandon replied.
“Let’s go. I need to go home and change,” Brianna said, her composure fully restored.

Brandon felt his heart ache seeing her stubborn resilience. He couldn’t help but want to protect her.
As they got in the car, Brianna suddenly remembered something.
She barely had any clothes at the Levy family’s villa.
Back when she returned after her injury, she hadn’t brought much with her.
Since she rarely went out, she only had pajamas and two outfits for stepping outside.
She had no choice but to go back and change, but she really didn’t want to bring Brandon to that area in the south of the city.
She struggled with the decision for a moment.
But eventually, she told the driver to head to the south side.
‘Who cares, the big CEO probably doesn’t have the time or energy to worry about where I live anyway,’ Brianna thought.
Soon, they were back on the south side of town.
As the car pulled into the neighborhood, there was a moving truck blocking the driveway in front of Brianna’s house.
Perfect, that suited her just fine.
“Wait for me in the car. I’ll just change and be right back,” Brianna said.
She didn’t really want Brandon to come in with her.
“I’ll go
with you,” Brandon said as he opened the car door.
Seeing him already out of the car, Brianna just let it go.
They headed up the path together.
It turned out that the movers were busy at the villa two doors down from Brianna’s place.
From the looks of it, someone was moving in, not moving out.
Neither of them paid it much attention.
They went straight to Brianna’s house.
Since Brandon was a guest, Brianna felt obliged to offer him some hospitality and handed him a glass of
water.
“Take a seat, I’ll be right back,” she said.
With that, she turned and headed upstairs.

I just want to change and leave as soon as possible,’ Brianna thought, eager to get out of there.
Brandon being here was seriously awkward for her.
She felt like he was invading her personal space, like he was seeing too much of her private life.
She quickly changed her clothes.
She washed her face, threw on some foundation, did her brows, and swiped on a bit of lipstick.
Then she hurried back downstairs.

Brandon was sprawled out on the couch, casually going through the documents on the coffee table.
‘Why is he always like this?’ Brianna thought, feeling exasperated.
‘He just touches other people’s stuff as if he owns the place,’ she frowned.
“Alright, let’s go,” Brianna said.
“Horizon Group is launching a luxury bespoke line?” Brandon said, still sitting on the couch.
“Yeah,” Brianna replied.
Brianna snatched the document from his hand and put it back on the coffee table.
“Let’s go,” she said.
Brandon got up, ready to go.
“Jewelry design isn’t really my thing, but when it comes to marketing and strategy? That’s where I shine,” Brandon said, sounding completely self-assured.
He looked as if he had everything under control.
‘That’s true, Brianna thought. ‘When he first joined the Levy Group, it was his bold moves and fearless reforms that helped him win all those power struggles.
‘Why not take advantage of the resources already at hand?’ Brianna thought.
“So, what’s your take on it?” Brianna asked, genuinely curious.
“It’s not just about selling a product. It’s about selling an experience! The thrill of consumerism only lasts for that moment of ownership. Once you have it, the allure disappears. The only way to keep people spending is to keep them hooked by constant scarcity,” Brandon analyzed seriously.
He was breaking it down, totally focused.
“And with luxury bespoke, the real trick is to reinforce that sense of belonging to a select group. Host art exhibitions, charity galas, and private preview parties. All those exclusive events that make the brand feel like a club,” he added.

Brianna listened, thinking. ‘Wow, he’s actually got some real skills.’
As they got back in the car, Brianna suddenly asked, “Should we pick up Kendra?”
Brandon checked the time, and it looked like they could still make it.
So he told the driver to head to Kendra’s school.

Since Josefina wanted them back, it looked like they’d be staying over at the Levy villa tonight.
They pulled up to the school right as classes let out.
Brianna hopped out of the car.
She followed Brandon to the spot where parents picked up kids from Kendra’s class.
Watching how smoothly Brandon handled the whole pick-up routine, Brianna couldn’t help but feel a jolt of surprise.
She was caught off guard, a wave of guilt washing over her.
It hit her that Kendra had already been in elementary school for a whole year.
And yet, this was actually Brianna’s very first time picking her daughter up after school.
“Is it always you picking her up?” Brianna asked, unable to hide her curiosity.
Brandon gave her a mildly reproachful look, as if saying, ‘You really don’t know?’
“Yeah, most days it’s me. If I can’t make it, James handles it,” he said.
Brianna nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Just then, Brianna spotted Kendra in the crowd.
Her daughter was making her way out, hand in hand with her classmates, with the teacher leading them.
“Kendra!” Brianna called out, unable to hold back.
Kendra heard her voice and looked up, locking eyes with Brianna.
