Too Late To Love Me I Already Left With His Twins (Lydia and Dave) novel Chapter 250

“Yes, ma’am.”

She left.

I leaned back in my chair and rubbed my temples.

My desk was covered with notes.

My laptop glowed in front of me.

My phone sat beside it.

And somewhere inside that phone were two names I was trying very hard not to think about.

Dave.

Theo.

I closed my eyes.

“Tomorrow,” I whispered.

I’d deal with all of it tomorrow.

Tonight, I just had to finish the work.

Younger brother?

Lydia POV

You know what?

I was changing my mind.

I couldn’t allow these two men to keep occupying valuable real estate in my head like they had paid fent.

I had work tomorrow. Two children who somehow managed to turn every ordinary day into an Olympic event. A client who was currently giving me enough problems to qualify as a second full-time job. Bills. Emails. Meetings.

a And somehow, here I was, sitting on my bed at night, conducting an internal election between two grown men.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I reached for the notebook Dr. Sana had given me.

“Fine,” I muttered. “Let’s just get this over with.”

I crossed my legs beneath me, opened the notebook, uncapped my pen, and stared at the first question.

First: How do I feel before I see him?

I tapped my pen against my chin.

“With Dave…”

I paused.

My mouth twisted slightly.

“Weird.”

I wrote it down.

Then I added:

With Dave, I feel weird, but in a good way.

I stared at the sentence.

Okay.

That was vague.

Very insightful, Lydia.

I moved on.

With Theo, it feels like I’m meeting my younger brother.

My pen stopped.

I frowned.

My eyes moved back to the sentence.

My younger brother?

Why had I written that?

cratched out the last word.

Then stopped.

No.

I rewrote it.

Younger brother.

I stared at it.

“Why am I comparing him to a younger brother?”

I leaned back against my pillows.

That was… concerning.

Not necessarily bad.

Just strange.

I continued.

Second: How do I feel while. I’m with him?

I didn’t need much time for this one.

Dave irritated.

I paused.

Then added:

I immediately wrote:

I don’t trust men.

Then I stopped.

“Okay. That’s dramatic.”

I crossed out men.

Replaced it with.

I don’t trust easily. There is always another shoe waiting to drop.

That sounded more like me.

For Theo, I wrote:

Maybe.

Then:

I think I trust him a little. Especially with how he’s handled his divorce and everything involving Miriam. He’s been consistent.

I nodded slowly.

Then Dave.

Maybe a little too.

I added:

He’s been stable with the kids. He shows up. He’s been consistent lately.

I stared at the word.

Consistent.

That was a word I never thought I’d use for Dave again.

Sixth: Do I admire who he is when nobody is watching?

I laughed under my breath.

“Oh, this one is evil.”

Dave first.

I didn’t even hesitate.

I used to adore him.

My smile disappeared.

I stared at the words.

Before everything happened.

I swallowed.

He was intelligent. Ambitious. Driven. Kind in ways I didn’t appreciate enough at the time. He was almost a

mentor to me.

I lowered my pen.

There were memories I hadn’t touched in years.
