Some time later, after finally calming Leo down, Ivy tucked him into bed.
She gently pulled the blanket over him before leaning down to place a soft kiss on his forehead.
"Sleep well, sweetheart," she whispered.
Leo nodded sleepily, his small hand briefly holding onto hers before slowly drifting off to sleep.
Seeing him finally relax eased the ache in Ivy’s heart.
Quietly leaving the room, she turned to Butler Rupert.
"Please keep an eye on him tonight."
Rupert bowed respectfully.
"Don’t worry, Madam. I’ll stay close by."
Giving him a grateful nod, Ivy headed toward Xander’s study.
The moment she pushed open the door, she found Xander standing by the floor-to-ceiling window with his phone against his ear.
"Good," he said calmly. "Make sure every media outlet involved receives the legal notice by tonight. I also want additional security around Daffodil Academy."
After listening for a few more seconds, he replied, "Keep investigating."
With that, he ended the call.
Without turning around, he said, "It was Gavin."
Ivy stopped just inside the room.
"He leaked Leo’s school schedule through one of his contacts."
Xander finally turned to face her.
"I expected Gavin to make a move after aligning himself with the Ford family. I just didn’t think he’d act this quickly."
His voice remained calm, but the coldness in his eyes was unmistakable.
He had anticipated that Gavin would interfere.
What he hadn’t expected was for Gavin to drag a six-year-old child into the conflict.
Ivy’s expression darkened.
"He had no right to involve Leo."
The image of Leo being surrounded by reporters replayed in her mind.
Her hands unconsciously clenched into fists.
"He’s a strong boy," she said quietly. "But no six-year-old should have to face something like that."
She knew Leo was far more mature than children his age.
Even so...
He was still just a child.
Anyone would panic after being ambushed by dozens of reporters without warning.
Xander walked over to his desk.
"I’ve already instructed Taylor to sue every media company and every reporter who surrounded Leo outside Daffodil Academy."
He paused before adding,
"But I don’t think that’s enough."
The scandal had spread too quickly.
Even after his team began suppressing the online discussions, more articles continued to appear.
Someone was deliberately fueling the story.
"Then don’t suppress it."
Xander looked up.
For a moment, he wondered if he had heard her correctly.
"What?"
"Stop trying to bury it."
A slight frown appeared between his brows.
"I thought keeping our relationship out of the public eye was what you wanted."
"It was."
Ivy walked closer until she stood opposite him.
"But things have changed."
She met his eyes without the slightest hesitation.
"Didn’t you say Gavin was behind all of this?"
Xander nodded.
"Then ask yourself this."
She folded her arms across her chest.
"Why would he go to such lengths?"
Xander remained silent.
"He could’ve exposed our relationship at any time."
"So why now?"
The room fell quiet.
Xander replayed everything that had happened over the past few days.
Helping Florine.
Getting Nora released.
Leaking Leo’s school information.
Pushing the media toward them.
None of it was random.
Seeing the realization dawn in his eyes, Ivy continued,
"He isn’t helping Florine because he’s generous."
"He’s using her."
"And whatever he’s after... it involves us."
Xander’s gaze gradually sharpened.
"He wants to force us into the open."
"Exactly."
Ivy nodded.
"He wants to expose our relationship—and eventually my identity through my connection to the Ford family."
"If we continue hiding, we’ll only keep reacting to his moves."
She paused before saying firmly,
"So let’s stop hiding."
Xander studied her for several long seconds.
There wasn’t a trace of hesitation in her expression.
Only determination.
Ivy had never planned to reveal their relationship this way.
She had wanted to protect Leo from unnecessary public attention.
She had wanted to avoid dragging the Emerson family into endless speculation.
But today’s incident had changed everything.
The moment Gavin and the Ford family targeted Leo, they had crossed a line.
If they wanted to use secrets as weapons...
Then she would simply take those secrets away.
"They want to control the narrative," Ivy said steadily.
"So let’s tell the truth before they get the chance to twist it."
A faint smile appeared on Xander’s lips.
For the first time since the scandal broke, he found himself agreeing completely.
"Alright."
His voice was calm but resolute.
"We’ll do it your way."

The next morning, the first rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, bathing the bedroom in a warm golden glow.
Leo was still fast asleep between his parents, his tiny arms wrapped around the blanket as he slept peacefully, completely unaware of the storm waiting outside.
Xander opened his eyes first.
For a brief moment, he simply watched his son sleeping before his phone, resting on the bedside table, began to vibrate.
Glancing at the caller ID, he carefully slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake either Leo or Ivy.
He quietly stepped onto the balcony before answering the call.
"Yes, Taylor."
"But he’ll also stand back up."
"That’s who Leo is."
Hearing those words, Ivy finally allowed herself to relax.
Without saying anything else, she stepped closer and wrapped her arms around Xander.
Resting her head against his chest, she closed her eyes.
After a long moment, Ivy spoke in a quiet voice.
"I know he’ll be alright."
Her embrace tightened slightly.
"But the people who tried to hurt him..."
She slowly opened her eyes, and the warmth in them was replaced by quiet resolve.
"They’ll face the consequences."
Xander lowered his head to look at her.
There was no anger on her face.
Only the unwavering determination of a mother protecting her child.
His lips curved into a faint smile.
"They will."
And this time, neither of them intended to show mercy.

Meanwhile, news of Globe International’s emergency board meeting reached Edward.
The moment Butler Ben informed him of the situation, Edward’s expression darkened.
"The board has called an emergency meeting, Master," Ben replied respectfully. "It was proposed by Young Master Gavin. The executives are demanding that the president address the rumors surrounding him and Madam Ivy."
Edward’s face immediately hardened.
"That insolent brat."
His voice was calm, yet laced with unmistakable anger.
"So he’s finally making his move."
Ben lowered his head, remaining silent.
Edward had seen countless power struggles throughout his life. He knew this meeting wasn’t really about protecting the company’s reputation.
It was about putting pressure on Xander.
Gavin had chosen this moment, when public opinion was at its worst, to force Xander into a corner.
"What a foolish boy," Edward muttered. "Instead of standing with his own family, he’s trying to take advantage of the situation for personal gain."
He slowly rose from his chair, gripping his cane.
Although he had stepped away from the company’s day-to-day affairs years ago, he had never stopped paying attention to what happened within Globe International.
And today... he wasn’t about to sit back and watch.
"Ben."
"Yes, Master."
"Prepare the car."
Ben looked up.
"You’re going to Globe International?"
Edward nodded without hesitation.
"If Gavin thinks he can corner my grandson while I’m still alive, then he’s gravely mistaken."
A faint but intimidating aura surrounded the old man.
"I’ll attend the meeting myself."
Ben couldn’t help but smile inwardly.
It had been a long time since Edward had personally intervened in company matters.
"I’ll have the car ready immediately."
Edward gave a small nod. His eyes narrowed as he looked out the window.
"No one is going to bully my grandson while I’m still here."
With that, he picked up his coat and headed toward the door, his expression resolute.
Today, he intended to remind everyone at Globe International exactly who had built the company they now took for granted.
