Entitled Blood
Andrei’s POV
The school’s hallway stinks of fear before I even step inside.
Teachers shift nervously as some secretary fumbles with her keyboard, and the vice principal- who I recognize only because his name tag shakes with his trembling hands–won’t even look me in the eye.
“Mr. Russo… uh, right this way, sir,” he stammers.
I say nothing, only slide a cold look over him that has him nearly tripping over his own shoes as he leads me into the office.
I see a girl with her head bowed, but the tears on her face look too perfect, streaking evenly down her cheeks. She dabs at them delicately with a silk handkerchief, like she knows exactly how to sell her pain.
I loathe people like that.
A man, most likely her father, is planted beside her like a self–proclaimed king. His expensive suit strains as he leans back in the chair, one hand drumming impatiently against the armrest. He looks like he’s already rehearsing a lawsuit.
Across from them, Luka sits sprawled in a seat, bruises blooming on his face, his lip split, one eye swelling shut. His fists are raw, knuckles bloody and cracked open, but he looks almost bored–like he’d do it again.
But his injuries are nothing compared to Nico’s.He sits slouched opposite, his cheekbone dark and swollen, bruised, blood on his knuckles, a split lip, shirt collar torn.He looks ready to launch himself at Luka is he so much as breathes wrong.
I sigh, inwardly. Nico knows he has close to no chance against Luka when it comes to
fighting.Which makes me wonder. How the hell did Nico manage beat up Luka this much?I shake off the thought and step fully into the room.
And the principal… the man’s pale, wringing his hands like a priest facing damnation.
“Mr. Russo,” the principal stammers as I stand, his voice clearly trying for steady but breaking around the edges. “Thank you for coming so quickly. As you can’t tell, we… we have quite a situation.
“I say nothing. My silence is enough. I let my eyes roam–first Luka, then Nico, then the girl, then
her father.
