Last Ride

3rd Person’s POV

The city feels loud. Alive.Luka keeps his hands jammed in his jacket pockets as he walks beside Leon, eyes darting to every passing car and every face they cross. His jaw works as he chews at the

inside of his cheek, restless.

“You’re sure Matteo said it was this way?” Luka finally asks, breaking the silence.Leon doesn’t

“Yeah,” Luka mutters, scowling, “but Matteo’s ‘coordinates‘ once led us to a garbage dump in the

Because why the fuck would it ever be easy?“Leon’s already moving, sliding his phone into his pocket. His hand goes to the back of his waistband. The metallic scrape is soft but sharp in the silence as he pulls his gun free. He checks the chamber out of habit.Luka watches him, raising a brow. “What are you doing?”

“Luka just stares at him, unimpressed. Then, with a lazy sort of motion, he reaches under his jacket and draws his own gun. He checks it with practiced ease, the click echoing faintly.

“Luka shrugs, sliding out of the car to stand guard at the mouth of the alley. “It’s the best you’ll

“He creeps closer, gun raised, eyes darting over the car.Something’s wrong. The window on the driver’s side is rolled halfway down. Dark streaks trail down the metal.Leon swallows hard, inching forward until he’s at the door. With a quick glance over his shoulder to check Luka’s position–still watching from the mouth of the alley, gun in hand—he inches towards the car.He approaches carefully, gun up, every muscle coiled tight.
