Trapped by Seven Mafia Wolves novel Chapter 14

**The Unplaceable End by Austen**

**Chapter 14**

**Through His Eyes**

**Raphael’s POV**

As the car glides along the winding road, the city outside transforms into a mesmerizing swirl of lights and shadows, each passing moment blurring into the next. My phone vibrates softly in the pocket of my coat, a reminder of the world I’m temporarily leaving behind. I choose to ignore it, letting it buzz into silence.

The driver remains quiet, a familiar understanding hanging in the air. He knows better than to intrude on my thoughts.

I keep my gaze fixed on the window, though my eyes aren’t truly capturing the scenery. Instead, my mind is consumed by thoughts of her.

Of Aurora.

When I told her I would be away for a few hours, she didn’t utter a single word. Just a slight nod, as if she had been conditioned to accept whatever was thrown her way. It’s as if she believes that compliance is a safer option than voicing her concerns.

That realization alone constricts my chest, making it hard to breathe.

She has a way of blending into the background, her presence so subdued that it’s easy to forget she’s there. But then, I catch a glimpse of her—curled up in the corner, as if she’s trying to vanish from the world, arms wrapped around her knees, the bandages on her palms still bright and fresh—and the truth hits me like a punch to the gut.

She’s just a child.

Barely thirteen.

So small for her age, so frail. It’s as if she hasn’t had a proper meal in weeks. Her wrists are delicate, resembling thin twigs, and her eyes—those large, expressive eyes—seem too big for her fragile face. She flinches at the slightest change in the wind, as though even nature is a threat.

And my brothers? They treat her like she’s some sort of curse, an affliction we can’t shake off.

I shut my eyes, my jaw clenching tightly.

Jace snaps at her, his voice a harsh bark, treating her like an adversary rather than a victim. Luka barely acknowledges her existence, as if she’s not even human. Nico goes out of his way to make her uncomfortable, his presence a constant source of dread for her. And Leon? He watches her with a wary gaze, as if he believes she’s plotting something sinister.

Matteo—his feelings are a mystery to me. But I see the way he looks at her, as if she’s already failed a test he never bothered to administer.

And then there’s Andrei. He speaks little, but I can sense the coldness emanating from him.

He’s trying to keep his distance.

To protect her in the only way he knows—by ensuring that no one gets close enough to inflict further pain.

But it’s futile.
