Trapped by Seven Mafia Wolves novel Chapter 146

Chapter 146

The landing’s rough- knees bending, shoulders rolling, hands catching against the ground. My boots hit silently. Years of training pay off in the one moment that matters.

The smell hits me first – rust, oil, and something sickly metallic. A smell all too familiar.

Blood.

I don’t think. I move.

Gun up, silencer fixed, I slide into the first hallway

The walls drip with condensation, pipes hissing softly overhead. Light flickers like it’s dying. My finger brushes the trigger guard, and I slow at the sound of footsteps ahead. Two guards – voices sharp, casual.. They turn the corner, rifles slung over their shoulders.

They don’t see me.One laugh echoes – loud, careless.

I move fast

step out, grab the first by the collar, pull him forward, knife sliding clean under his chin. He doesn’t even gasp before I lower him. The second turns, eyes wide, mouth already open to yell for backup- I launch the knife at once, the sharp blade snapping through the space. He spurts blood as he claws at his throat, the knife embedded deep. He collapses with a thud, eyes blazing

with hate.

God, I missed this.

I drag the bodies behind a stack of crates, pulling the knife out of his neck, wipe it clean on a rag

that smells like diesel, and keep moving.

I move down the hall on the balls of my feet, breath low, gun up. The place smells like oil and old blood and bad decisions. The lights are dying like someone’s pulling the life out of them one bulb at

a time.

Then I notice it a room across the corridor that’s different. Not a flickering, miserable sodium glow. Bright.Sunlight?“That’s not right,” I mumble eyes narrowing as I approach the door.

I ease the lock with the flat of my knife–old metal, soft tooth–twist, nudge. The door swings open like some awful invitation.Light punches me. The shell hits first–iron, sweat, a sharp, sour edge
