Trapped by Seven Mafia Wolves novel Chapter 26

**Chapter 26**

**You Too?**

**Leon’s POV**

As I ascend the staircase, I spot Luka leaning casually against the railing in the upstairs hallway, his posture oozing a nonchalance that makes my blood boil. It’s as if he’s oblivious to the storm brewing within me.

But I’m not. I can’t afford to be.

His eyes lazily drift up to meet mine, and in that instant, his smirk morphs into something sharper, more sinister—like a blade ready to cut deep.

“So, how’s the little stray mutt?” he taunts, his voice dripping with mockery.

“Still breathing? Shame. Would’ve been easier if she didn’t wake up.”

A chill spreads through my veins at his words, an icy grip that tightens around my heart.

“What did you just say?” I manage to ask, my voice dropping to a dangerously low whisper. It’s too low, a warning bell ringing in my mind.

He shrugs, his indifference palpable, as if my anger is nothing more than a fleeting annoyance.

“Come on, man. We all know she’s more trouble than she’s worth. You really think she belongs here?” His grin widens, a cruel twist of satisfaction. “Should’ve let her freeze to death on the porch. It would’ve done us all a favor.”

Rage ignites within me, a wildfire that threatens to consume everything in its path.

I don’t respond. I can’t.

The silence that hangs between us is deafening, a roar louder than any argument could ever be.

Without uttering another word, I pivot on my heel and storm down the hallway, my door crashing shut behind me with a thunderous bang that reverberates through the house.

**Luka’s POV**

The sound of the door slamming echoes through the hallway, a stark reminder of the tension that lingers in the air. For a moment, I stand frozen, blinking at the empty space where Leon just stood, as if the walls themselves had conspired against me.

What the hell just happened?

Leon—my brother—slamming his door because of her?

That weak little brat who’s done nothing but cry and create chaos since the moment she arrived?

He’s changed.

All because of that girl.

I clench my teeth, my fingers curling into tight fists at my sides, the anger surging through me like a tidal wave.

He used to understand.

And I despise that. I loathe the fact that she appears to be someone I should have protected. I resent that Leon sees something in her that I can’t. I detest that I’m even here, in this room, staring at her.

“You’re not special,” I whisper, my voice barely breaking the silence. “You’re not strong. You’re not brave. You’re just… ruining everything.”

She remains motionless. Of course she does.

She’s probably too cold or too exhausted to even dream.

My gaze drifts to her hand, those thin fingers riddled with scratches on her knuckles, remnants of old bruises still fading.

I should leave. I want to leave. But my feet feel as though they’re anchored to the floor, unwilling to move.

“You made him change,” I mutter, more to myself than to her. “You made him choose you.”

I spit on the ground, a gesture of my contempt.

Her chest rises and falls, that’s all.

“I don’t care what Leon says,” I add bitterly, the words dripping with disdain.

“You don’t belong here. You never will.”

With that, I turn away and shut the door behind me, my heart heavy with the weight of unspoken words as I walk away.
