Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 106

He was still there!

Cold wind kept pouring into the car, making Madeline shiver. Through the haze of rain, a tall, lean figure stepped out of his car. His dark eyes swept over to them, carrying an intense, almost suffocating pressure.

As he started walking toward them, Casey’s expression hardened. He reached out, turned Madeline’s shoulders toward him, and leaned in close.

His sharp, handsome face suddenly filled her vision. Madeline’s eyes widened in surprise, her lashes trembling as she instinctively tried to push him away. “What are you doing?”

Casey caught her hands and pretended to kiss her.

Madeline frowned, completely lost.

They were so close their breaths mingled, and from Julian’s angle, it looked like they were wrapped up in a deep, passionate kiss.

Julian froze, his eyes narrowing dangerously. His gaze was so dark it was impossible to tell what he was thinking.

He clenched his fists, reopening the wound on his hand so fresh blood started dripping down.

A long silence passed before he let out a bitter, mocking laugh. Without a word, he turned and walked away.

Casey was just about to let Madeline go when he noticed something on her collarbone, barely visible where her shirt had slipped. A fresh, intimate bite mark now burned against her skin.

Casey’s eyes darkened. He pulled her collar a little further aside, his brow furrowed, the coldness in him practically spilling out.

“Julian did this?”

Madeline quickly pushed him back, yanking her collar up, a flush creeping across her cheeks.

Casey’s fists clenched tighter. That violent edge he always tried to keep hidden started to break through, his eyes wild and dangerous.

Madeline met his gaze, and for a moment, it felt like she was staring down a beast ready to pounce.

It sent a chill down her spine.

“Casey…”

He didn’t hear her at all.

Casey’s eyes narrowed even more as he grabbed the steering wheel.

“I’m sorry.” He looked completely lost.

Madeline rubbed her sore fingers and glanced out the windshield. Julian’s car was gone. She finally let herself breathe.

She shook her head. “It’s fine. Let’s just go home.”

This time, Casey didn’t dare lose his temper again. He drove them back quietly, going slower than usual.

When they got to her apartment building, neither of them got out right away. Casey lit a cigarette, but before he could take a drag, a small hand snatched it away and slipped a piece of candy between his lips.

Casey paused, tasting sweet fruit on his tongue.

He turned and looked at her.

Madeline put out the cigarette. “I’ve told you a million times. When you feel that anger building up, hsve some candy instead.”

Casey was much calmer now. He looked at Madeline, his eyes softening. Part of him had worried she wouldn’t want to talk to him anymore.
