Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 198

Helene clenched her jaw, her face shifting through shades of embarrassment and anger. She looked ready to explode.

“Are you two done here? Leave.” Madeline’s voice was sharper than ever, her tone icy and flat.

Neither Helene nor Raine moved. They stood awkwardly, unsure if they should stay or go.

Madeline didn’t have the patience for their indecision. She glanced at the manager, her voice calm but firm. “If they’re not out in the next minute and keep bothering me, I’m going to file a formal complaint.”

The manager went pale at the thought. He hurried over, voice tight. “Ladies, I’m going to have to ask you to leave now.”

Four security guards stepped up, ready to escort them out.

Helene fixed her glare on Madeline. She shoved the guard’s hand away with a sneer. “Don’t touch me. I can walk out on my own.”

She shot Madeline one last, burning look before finally storming out, her anger making her steps unsteady. She’d been humiliated in front of everyone, and it showed.

As soon as they were outside, Helene spun on Raine, her eyes blazing. Raine was useless. How could she not know Madeline owned a company? Wasn’t she supposed to be her own sister?

Honestly, it was no wonder Madeline played her for a fool every time.

“You idiot! How could you not know Madeline has a company? She’s your sister. Isn’t anyone in the Monroe family paying attention?”

Helene was shaking with rage. She’d just found out Madeline owned Scent Trace, and then she’d been kicked out by her. The humiliation was almost too much to take.

Raine shrank back, stammering. “I didn’t know, I swear. My dad never told me anything about it.”

On the edge of falling apart, Helene rounded on Raine, who was still standing there, frozen. Pressing a hand to her forehead, she snapped, “Are you just going to stand there? Help me already.”

Raine rushed forward to steady her.

Meanwhile, inside Julian’s private room, the atmosphere was thick with tension.

Julian sat at the head of the table, his face completely unreadable. He hadn’t said a word all night. No one at the table dared to speak or even breathe too loudly. Everyone there was high-powered, but right now, they all felt like they were walking on eggshells.

Every so often, someone would sneak a look at him. He was young, but his presence was impossible to ignore. That icy expression on his face made them all wonder what could possibly have set him off.
