“She did it while he was still married. She set her sights on Mr. Grayson and his wife, waited until he was drunk, then slept with him and ended up pregnant. She plotted to push the wife out. Tell me, isn’t someone like that just the worst? Absolutely no shame, not a scrap of decency. And now she has the nerve to brag about it, like it’s some kind of achievement. Seriously, how pathetic can you get?”

Brenda didn’t bother to lower her voice. Everyone around could hear her loud and clear.

The restaurant, which had been quiet just a moment ago, was suddenly filled with whispers and gossip.

Everyone knew Julian had been married before. That was never a secret.

Helene bit down on her lip, her whole body shaking as she glared at Brenda. “Shut up. I did not.”

“Oh, please. You really don’t know what shame is, do you?”

Brenda still wasn’t done. “A mistress is always a mistress. Even if you managed to become Mrs. Grayson in the end, you’ll never be respectable. Only you two would ever use this as something to show off about. Honestly, it’s pathetic and disgusting.”

Her words made Helene tremble with rage.

The worst part was, Brenda hadn’t said a single thing that wasn’t true, leaving Helene with nothing to fight back with.

Brenda grumbled but listened. They called a server over to pack up the food they barely touched.

Raine let out a mocking laugh. “Packing up leftovers? I know you are pretending to be rich when you’re not.”

Madeline held Brenda’s arm tightly, trying to keep her from losing her cool again.

Sensing that things might get out of hand, the restaurant’s security and a few servers hurried over. “Ladies, please, let’s all calm down…”

Raine pointed at Madeline and Brenda and said to the staff, “Those two can’t pay. Watch them, or they’ll try to sneak out without paying.”
