Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 343

Julian paused, his brows drawn tight as he considered his answer. “I hope you mean what you say.”

“You can trust me on that.”

He had no interest in dragging the conversation out any longer. He turned to leave the study.

“Hold on.” Christian’s voice stopped him.

“What now?”

Christian fixed his gaze on Julian. “When are you planning to marry Helene?”

Julian couldn’t help but let out a cold, short laugh. He faced his grandfather. “I already let her go. Are you really asking me to marry her?”

Christian’s frown deepened. “This was decided a long time ago. Besides, she was once pregnant with your child. Don’t you think you should take care of her?”

Julian let out another icy laugh, his eyes colder than ever. “Grandfather, I’ve spent the last five years making up for what happened that night.”

He’d been helping the Fortner family for years, cleaning up their messes and bailing them out whenever trouble came knocking.

Whatever he owed, he’d already paid back in full.

Christian stared at him, his voice leaving no room for argument. “I don’t care what you think. This is settled. You’re marrying Helene.”

Julian raised an eyebrow. “I’m not marrying her. If you’re so determined, why don’t you marry her yourself? I wouldn’t mind calling her Grandma.”

“You...” Christian was so furious he shot up from the sofa, his breath caught in his chest. For a second, it looked like he might just faint from rage.

Julian glanced at him, walked to the drawer, grabbed a bottle of heart pills, and set them down in front of his grandfather before leaving without looking back.

“You ungrateful brat, get back here! You’re going to be the death of me, do you hear me?” Christian picked up the bottle and hurled it at Julian, but Julian was already gone.

Julian’s eyes swept over her, cold and sharp.

Helene’s heart pounded in her chest when he stayed silent.

“Miles.”

“Here, boss.” Miles stepped forward right away.

“Let the media know. The engagement between me and Helene is off.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Wait!” Helene rushed forward, desperate. “Julian, are you really breaking off our engagement? I don’t want that. No! Julian, I still want to be your bride. You can’t just leave me.”
