Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 508

Madeline finally let go, her fingers uncurling as if she’d been holding on for dear life.

Hearing the news, her heart skipped a beat. She honestly couldn’t tell what she should feel.

She wasn’t Drew’s daughter. For her, that was something to celebrate. A father like him was nothing to brag about anyway.

All this time, she’d thought the Monroe family treated her like dirt because of money. But now she knew the truth. It had never just been about money. They acted that way because she didn’t share their blood. She never really belonged.

Madeline pressed her lips together, tasting the bitterness. “So she’s Drew’s real daughter, isn’t she?”

It explained why Claire had been so smug earlier. She already knew.

Maxwell nodded. “That’s right. We sent people to the Capital. She really was in a car accident, and her face was badly injured.”

Claire’s smile was smug, her eyes practically shining with victory.

She’d been scheming for years. No way would she have tried to fool the Ballard family if she wasn’t sure she’d pull it off.

“Is there any way the test was faked?” Madeline asked.

Harry stepped forward, sounding certain. “No chance at all.”

Madeline nodded, the pieces falling into place.

The Monroe family had helped this woman because she was Drew’s real daughter. They’d probably been plotting this for years, hungry for everything that belonged to her mother.

If Claire really was Drew’s daughter, maybe the truth could be uncovered by looking into his affairs and any other secret children he might have had.

Still, right now, none of that mattered. If she got kicked out of the Ballard family, this fake would take over for good.

Claire lifted her chin, grinning at Madeline. “Anything else to say, imposter?”

“I’m already inside. What are you going to do about it?” Julian’s face was stone cold, unreadable.

Maxwell watched, then waved him through. “Let him in.”

Julian didn’t waste a second. As soon as he entered, the entire room seemed to shift.

He looked at the two identical faces. His brows lifted, just a little.

Madeline and Claire both turned toward him.

Julian’s gaze swept over them, but when he saw Madeline, he didn’t look away.

Maxwell spoke up. “Mr. Grayson, what brings you here today?”

“You took my wife. What do you think?”
