Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 737

“That’s right, Shelly. It’s all our fault. Please don’t be angry with Dad… I mean, Ray. If you don’t like it, I’ll call him Ray from now on. Please don’t be mad at him. He really loves you so much.”

Jane and Alianna flanked Ray, chiming in one after the other. Anyone else might have praised them for their maturity and consideration.

To Shelly, it was all just a pathetic charade. It was always the same lines, and every time, Ray would fall for their act. If she dared to argue, she was the one being unreasonable, the one who couldn't let things go.

Shelly coldly pulled her hand from Ray’s grasp, not bothering to look at them. Her voice was flat and empty.

“All of you, get out.”

Ray frowned. “Just give me a few minutes to explain.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Do you always have to be like this?”

“I said, get out.” Shelly’s voice grew heavier, colder.

The others in the living room turned to look.

“Mom,” Madeline said softly.

Noah and Oliver blinked, looking at the scene with wide, confused eyes. “Grandma?”

Shelly swallowed her anger and looked at Ray. “Outside.”

She didn’t want the children to see the ugly side of adults arguing.

Shelly strode out, and Ray, his lips pressed into a tight line, followed her.

Seeing them go, Jane and Alianna exchanged a subtle, triumphant smile. The seeds of discord had been sown. This time, Shelly and Ray’s marriage might finally be over.

A smile Jane couldn’t suppress touched her lips.
