Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 84

She had reached her limit with Madeline.

The two of them slid into the car, bodyguards piling into the vehicles behind them. With a low rumble, the convoy pulled away and headed straight for Madeline’s apartment.

Forty minutes later, outside Madeline’s building.

“Boss, those are the cars up ahead,” Cody said, spotting the Grayson family convoy as it approached. He leaned in closer to the man beside him.

Casey looked up, eyes narrowing as he watched the line of sleek black cars approach. His gaze was cold, unreadable.

“Pathetic.”

Cody blinked. “Sorry, do you mean Madeline?”

After sending Oliver back home, his boss had worried Madeline wouldn’t be safe raising a child alone, so he’d come back to the country with them. That was the only reason he’d made it here so quickly tonight.

Was Casey insulting Madeline?

“You’re hopeless too. Why would I be talking about her?” Casey leaned back in his seat, his gaze sharp as he watched the cars draw near. “I’m talking about Helene. Five years, and she still hasn’t managed to go from girlfriend to wife?”

Cody had nothing to say to that. It was a little embarrassing, sure… but what did that have to do with his boss anyway?

Meanwhile, Helene and Lucy’s car sped straight down the center of the road, completely unaware of what was coming.

“Boss, what now?” Cody asked.

Casey’s eyes narrowed again as he watched the lead car. A cold, dangerous smile played at his lips.

“Hit them.”

He watched the wrecked car, listening to the terrified screams, and a satisfied smile curled across his face.

It didn’t take long for the bodyguards from the other car to rush over and drag Helene and Lucy out. They looked a mess. One was clutching her forehead, the other collapsed on the ground.

Casey’s eyes lit up with excitement. This was almost entertaining.

Helene pressed her hand to her head and glared up at the man standing above her. He radiated authority, and his cold, dark eyes seemed to glow in the night.

She clenched her jaw. He had hit them on purpose. She could feel it. This man was dangerous, and she had no idea who he was or what she’d done to deserve this.

“Who are you?” Helene snapped. “We don’t even know you. Why did you crash into us on purpose?”

Casey slid one hand into his pocket and raised an eyebrow. “You were driving so fast, I figured you were in a hurry to die. I just thought I’d give you a hand.”
