Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 85

Helene stared in disbelief. Was that supposed to be a reason? Did he really think she was crazy enough to kill herself?

Whatever his excuse, one thing was clear. That man had slammed into their car on purpose.

“Who do you think you are? Didn’t you notice whose car this is? It belongs to the Grayson family. You just picked a fight with the wrong people. Aren’t you worried about what the Graysons will do to you?”

Casey’s eyes glinted with a cold, amused smile. “The Grayson family?”

Helene clenched her jaw. In this city, no one dared to mess with the Graysons.

She didn’t care who this guy thought he was. No matter how much power he had, he couldn’t possibly challenge the Graysons.

She let out a short, mocking laugh. “What now, scared?”

Casey lifted an eyebrow and let a mocking smile play across his lips. “Please. They’re nothing to me.”

Helene froze, her face stiff. “You don’t even care about the Grayson family? You’ve got some nerve. Just wait until I tell my fiancé. You won’t get away with this.”

Casey’s smile only grew.

This was actually kind of fun.

Nobody had ever tried to threaten him like this before.

He turned his head and called out to his men, “Listen up. From now on, if you see her car on this road, hit it. Every single time.”

Helene’s face went white.

What…

This guy was insane!

What had she ever done to deserve this?

Casey looked back at her, his gaze light and lazy. “I’ll be waiting for you to come find me.”

He walked off with that same cool smile, leaving her standing there.

A moment later, he and his convoy of cars melted into the darkness, and Helene finally started to breathe again.

The whole thing felt surreal, like a bad dream. She was sure she’d never been this close to dying before.

She didn’t know a thing about that man, and that was exactly why she hadn’t dared to act out.

She’d called Julian’s assistant, Miles, who now stood in her living room, staring in disbelief at his boss sleeping on her couch.

Honestly, Ms. Monroe was the only one who could handle him.

He turned to Madeline, who looked as frustrated as ever. “Ms. Monroe, thank you for taking care of Mr. Grayson. He hasn’t rested this well in ages.”

Madeline rolled her eyes in her head. Like it wasn’t his own fault.

“Okay, you can take him home now.”

“Take him home?” Miles looked helpless. “Ms. Monroe, how am I supposed to do that?”

What if he woke up the second Miles touched him?

Julian was finally getting some real sleep. If he woke up cranky, Miles was convinced he wouldn’t survive the night.

He looked at Madeline, practically begging. “Ms. Monroe, please, could you let Mr. Grayson stay here tonight? As soon as he wakes up, we’ll leave, I promise.”

“No way,” Madeline shot back. “I live alone. It’s not appropriate for two men to stay at my place overnight.”

Miles looked completely lost. He understood, but he really didn’t have another option.
