Miles turned to Madeline. “Ms. Monroe, I brought breakfast for two. One’s for you.”

Madeline stared at Miles, unsure how she was supposed to react to his professionalism.

Well, anyone who could stick around Julian had to be a genius. He wasn’t just on time, he thought of everything.

When had she agreed to let Julian shower, change, and eat breakfast at her place?

Julian was already getting up. He glanced at her. “Mind if I use your bathroom?”

Madeline looked at him, then at Miles, who had everything ready for Julian. What was she supposed to say?

“If I said I minded, would you skip it?”

Julian nodded. “So you don’t mind.”

Madeline clenched her fists. Why was he just as clueless as Helene?

Julian followed the path Madeline had just come from and found the bathroom without any trouble.

A few minutes after he went in, Madeline suddenly remembered something. Her face went bright red and she rushed after him, only to find Julian already shirtless.

Under the bright lights, his bronze skin and toned body were impossible to miss. He looked strong, every muscle in perfect shape, radiating confidence and something a little dangerous.

Julian frowned as Madeline burst in, his eyes narrowing. “Madeline, do you have some kind of kink?”

Madeline slapped a hand over her eyes, her cheeks burning. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

She fumbled her way forward, grabbing a towel to cover the laundry basket beside her. Last night’s underwear was sitting right on top.

Madeline grabbed her laundry basket, stepped around Julian, and hurried out of the bathroom.

Julian watched her leave, feeling even more annoyed.

Madeline set the basket on the balcony and checked the time. Oliver usually woke up at six.

It was only five thirty.

She’d hidden all of Oliver’s things in his room last night, so Julian would only see signs of her living alone.

When she reached the dining room, Miles had already set out breakfast. “Ms. Monroe, breakfast is ready.”
