Two Reborn, One Throne novel Chapter 110

That had been the first time Amber had ever hit someone.

It felt incredibly liberating, her heart pounding against her ribs.

Taking on thirty men alone had pushed Sharif to his limits, and Amber couldn't just stand behind him uselessly.

She grabbed broken bottles, metal pipes—anything she could use as a weapon. Julian and Lyle had been delayed that night, and she absolutely refused to watch Sharif die in front of her.

Because if he died, she died too. Instead of cowering, she chose to fight alongside him to carve out a bloody path to survival.

They won, but it cost Amber half a month in a hospital bed.

Sharif had upgraded her to a private luxury suite and spent his own half-month recovering in the room right next to hers.

During that time, he ruthlessly mocked her, saying girls were too fragile—that she just needed an excuse to slack off work and extort him for medical bills.

So, despite surviving a life-or-death battle together, Amber's lasting impression of him had always been: *He's a great guy, but why did God give him such a terrible mouth?*

He was incredibly toxic, especially since he knew she was constantly plotting ways to make him fire her.

The more she tried to leave, the more he refused to let her. Insults aside, outside of Lucian and her father, Sharif had provided the only real protection she had ever known.

He had protected her with his life then, just like he was doing now. His face was twisted in dark fury, his aura suffocating, but Amber wasn't afraid. Instead, tears welled in her eyes.

Reborn into this life, she had never expected Sharif to step up for her like this so soon.

"This is the hand you used to grab her, right?"

"This is the foot you used to kick her, right?"

Wade had slapped her three times; Sharif paid him back with six bone-shattering strikes with the bat, every single blow drawing a tortured scream from the enforcer.

"You touched her? Who gave you the right?! Did I say you could touch her?!"

"AGHHH!!!" Wade was on the verge of blacking out, but Sharif perfectly controlled the tempo, ensuring the man stayed conscious to feel every ounce of the pain. Seeing Sharif hyper-focused on Wade, one of the thugs tried to crawl up behind him with a brick.

Without even looking, Sharif pivoted and drove the bat straight into the guy's chest. It was the thug in the black tee.

"Why are you in such a rush? It's your turn!"

With a sickening crack, the bat connected. This was the man who had grabbed her by the ankles and slammed her into the wall.

After the strike, Sharif grabbed him by the hair and, with terrifying force, slammed his skull directly into the concrete pillar.

Hot tears spilled down Amber's cheeks.

In her past life, she had been a fool. Being murdered by Lucian was her own fault for being blind, and she harbored no resentment because she was going to take her revenge in this life. But Sharif... she had no idea how to ever repay him.

In those three years working for him, they had argued, clashed, and she had threatened to quit countless times. Yet Sharif had never once done anything to actually hurt her.

Even knowing her messy background, and knowing rivals would try to exploit her naivety, he had patiently trained her like a top-tier executive.
